Q - Unanswered Question about spring 2027 application with disability

Hello! I'm interested in applying for spring 2027. I've been wanting to do the DCP for a really long time now but was always nervous to because of the accommodations I need. I have a couple questions when it comes to that.

There are many roles that I am physically unable to do. If I say "no" to too many roles on the application, does that already hurt my chances at getting an interview? I have a valid reason for the no's but no way to explain them on the application itself. I don't want to say yes just to get an interview then have it backfire on me. I'd rather just be honest.

Second, say I make it through and am accepted, at what point am I able to submit an accommodations request and put in all my documentation? I'm afraid of getting assigned a role I know I can't do, being told to try it out, and then having a harder time getting moved/suffering in that role for however long they make me. I know that with the DCP they put you where they need you, but if I can't be accommodated then I can't do the program. I'd rather know before I put down deposits and such.

Be honest on your application and say no to roles you cannot perform. During the interview, the recruiter might directly ask if you will need a work accommodation, but even if they don’t, you can mention it when you talk generally about roles. If I remember correctly, I have always been asked about what I am physically able to do during my interview, though I don’t need any accommodations so it’s a pretty short conversation for me.

If you’re accepted, you can submit a work medical accommodation as soon as you complete the steps to accept your offer! It is better for them if you submit it ASAP so they can assign you a role that you are able to perform from the beginning. If you do go through the process of submitting an accommodation, you will likely have a phone conversation with an accommodations person about what you are physically able to do and what kind of restrictions you need, and they will help get you placed somewhere that works for you. There should be an article on the Support that talks about accommodations if you want to look at it before applying

Not a disability in my case, but I had my interview yesterday, and my recruiter asked me a question along the lines of "would you be able to complete the tasks outlined in all of the roles listed on the dcp website" and I explained that placed low interest on some of the roles (gondola, for instance) because of my fear of heights, and she told me that she was making a note of that for future reference. I'm assuming it would be similar with a disability, if you tell them during the interview they might be able to make a note about it?

Also, i said low/no interest on about 40% of the roles, and I still got an interview. Even if you say low interest on a bunch, there's still a good chance that you'll get an interview, especially if you said yes to ones where there is a high need.
