Misc Interactive 3d physical map

Help! So in my own ttrpg I want to create a similar interactive 3d map for my players. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of how to make one similar?

My thought is foam as a base layer and 3d printing houses. But maybe someone has already tried it and can give some advice.

Do you mean a 3d region map? Or maps for combat?

A 3d region map is gonna be easiest to do by 3d printing sections and gluing it all together.

Theres many, many ways to make/buy terrain for battle maps

For a town/city map.

I want to show shops and homes landmarks and that sort of thing.
