I am waiting to get into the specialist for a CT.

21 month old neutered male golden retriever, 78 lbs.

My dog has a firm, symmetrical bump on the midline of his nasal bridge. It was fairly small in July and his vet examined it and said to monitor it. I've been taking pictures and it has definitely grown.

He is not bothered by it and I have not noticed any nasal discharge. I was hoping it was trauma from daycare or running into something while playing fetch, but the steady increase in size is concerning. It does seem like we can hear him breathing louder. He's not congested or struggling to breathe, but the air is moving through his nostrils louder. His allergies are bad right now (which are being treated) so that could be a factor as well.

The vet said it could be remodeling because it is symmetrical, but also noted it could be neoplasia.

I was a vet tech/practice manager for many years and will absolutely move forward with CT. I'm waiting to get in to their next available appointment. Just curious to see if anyone has seen something like this before. I've never seen anything like it in my almost 20 years of working in vet med.

My boy’s dog is 14. I don’t know the breed and I’m estimating the weights about 70 lbs. She has mysterious moles and horn-like masses across her body. One of them (circled) is leaking pus. This seems urgent, but I can’t call a vet for his family. Tips?

Symptoms apparent for past couple hours. Returned from walk about 5/6 hours ago though. 3 year old

I noticed my dog started to have blood in her stool. It was the jelly bright red mucus blood covering her stool. Got into the vet 5 days later and now granted we’ve recently moved to the state so I’m not established with anyone yet. But this vet has been incredible. He ran a CBC twice and results were the same both times. She has had 104° temp but she’s still eating. Gums are pink and she doesn’t have any petechaie. He’s so thrown off with her lab results but we went back in today and he did an X-ray and sono. Both not showing anything that stands out. Her small intestine looks bunched but when he did the sono he didn’t see anything alarming him. We did another blood sample and he’s sending it out for tick testing. In the mean time we started her on doxy and baytril. I can only take it a day at a time but could it be cancer? She’s 10.5. I’m just lost for words and searching to see if anyone else’s dogs have had a CBC panel like this. Thank you

I saw these very tiny ticks ( Looks big in photo as i zoomed) leaving my dog and moving on floor 3 days ago. On that day I started to see his skin . There are many dot like things stuck on its skin. I removed them and killed with nail and blood came out. I think these are ticks in developing stage. They are on legs , behind ears and everywhere on my dog. And about the ticks which left body and moved on floor on aug 30 i killed 20+ , 31st i killed 25+ and on sep 1 i killed nearly 40.

My dog started scratching very much.

Please help me to fix this now, not able to see my dog feeling so uncomfortable.

About 10 days ago I brought my 8mo old husky in to the vet due to having about 72 hours of mucusy diarrhea. No abnormal findings except for excess bacteria in his stool. They put him on an antibiotic, Vetoquinol Pro-Pectalin anti-diarrheal and a probiotic (which he is still taking). Today, he started having diarrhea again. He has an appetite, isn’t vomiting and is still acting like himself for the most part. Attached is a photo of his most recent BM… is this part of the normal healing process of getting his gut microbiome back on track or should I bring him in?

My mom’s French bulldog has this growth/lesion in her ear. It’s near the top of the point of the ear. She’s under a year old. My mom said she noticed the pink lump/growth last Wednesday and she already had an appointment for the dog to get spayed this week so thought it could wait. Over the weekend it just progressed and we found one of the other dogs licking it constantly so we’ve separated them since. On Friday it was just more inflamed and slight bleeding then Saturday/Sunday the white crust things were there. We’ve made an appoint for first thing tomorrow mirning, just curious what people think it could be. She doesn’t seem to be in pain at all, just shaking her ear and trying to itch it.

Our golden retriever is almost 6 years old and has had fainting spells after hard playing in the heat. We recently took her to a vet and they told us she has a heart murmur and so we took her to a cardiologist. She was diagnosed with very severe SAS. She’s lived double the life expectancy for this condition. I’m just here writing because this is genuinely so heartbreaking and I thought she’d only have faints from playing so much in the heat which we have prevented her from doing, but I let both our dogs out to go potty for barely five minutes (it’s night and cool/windy) and she was out there passed out and bending oddly. Truly the scariest I’ve seen her passed out. It felt longer and I didn’t ever see it start. I didn’t know if it was what could be her sudden death. I’m just so sad that this is happening to her. We got her a couple years ago from a family that wasn’t taking care of her but why does this sweet girl have to have such a short life. I’m so thankful she’s in a loving home but it’s so sad it can’t be as long. Any advice for her and anyone who has gone through this? We have a one year old golden also and it’s so sad to think she won’t be here long because he loves her so much.

I'm a first time dog owner and I'm my 1.5 year old dog was diagnosed with sever Hip Dysplasia last month . I've been researching about what it is and what are the next steps to help my buddy because I didn't really get a clear answer when I went to his vet and rehabilitation center.

We got an x-ray at the vet at they prescribed him pain meds, but we were told to only use it if it's severe because pain meds can damage his kidneys and liver over time.

I found this animal rehabilitation close to us so we tried to go there for hydrotherapy. We did 1 session and they told me that his muscles are good, he is fit, and to just keep doing regular walking and swimming. They told me he doesn't really need hydrotherapy or and rehabilitation of any kind.

I asked them if there's anything else I can do to help him and they told me no just keep doing what we been doing.

I guess I'm just confused, I'm glad my pup is healthy and he doesn't need hydrotherapy/rehab, but I just feel like I can do more for him than just walking + swimming, you know.

I been seeing dogs with HD online doing some stretches, but I didn't want to do it before consulting medical professionals, but since I they didn't really answer my questions, I have no choice but to look online and maybe you guys can help me?

Can anyone give me advice on what I can do to help my pup with his HD other than regular walks?

My roommate and I adopted a bonded at the shelter pair of dogs about five years ago. The older one a black pitbul was badly abused and used as a breeder. She was kicked down a flight of stairs and had neurological issues from it along with her back legs not always doing what she wants. Yesterday and today she has pooped in her kennel overnight. I have spoken with the vet are monitoring it. What im wondering is, could it just be a food change issue(we are trying a lamb instead of beef, which my other dog is loving) or something worse? She was let out late, around 930pm last night and I got her up about 8am. W

Cocoa spent her life doing far more than simply being a companion. She was a service dog to her person, helped raise their son - now 11 - and, in her owner’s words, saved their life. She was their friend, confidant, family member, and a constant presence through years that weren’t always easy.

As Cocoa grew older, the relationship between them changed, but the devotion never did. Her person slowed down for her, helped support her back end on the stairs, and spoke a little louder as her hearing faded. They cared for Cocoa through old age with the same patience and loyalty Cocoa had given them throughout her life.

When u/Unlikely-Stand972 first shared Cocoa’s story with r/DogHealth, one part especially stayed with us:

They wanted someone to know that Cocoa existed. That someone would care. That she had been a very, very good girl.

We do know now. And we care.

I have a 17 year old jack russell terrier that pees and poops in the house often. My boyfriend works from home and is able to take him out frequently, but at night we wake up to a lot of accidents to clean up in the morning.

We’ve recently started using diapers which helped for a period of time, but what’s happening now is that when we put the diaper on him he lifts his tail and is clenching his anus trying to poop and continues to pace, and won’t lay down or go to sleep. If we put the diaper on looser, so he’s not reacting to the diaper, it falls off and leaves accidents on the floor and in the bed. We’re at a loss on what to do. We have a camping trip coming up in our RV and would really like to figure out the diaper dilemma.

Dog is 11 months old he is a mutt I’m not sure exactly what, he’s about 30 lbs ( no changes in food/ meds or environment)

She went to the vet and came home with antibiotics but the cyst is only getting worse. We’ve been doing epsom salt soaks twice a day but I worried that her little toe is going to explode. We have a follow up next Wednesday, but should we move it up? She doesn’t seem to be in pain—she’s walking normally and doesn’t whine when we go near it. Any and all knowledge is appreciated.

Is this hyperkertosis? I've been applying Mushers Secret daily for the past week. I foolishly missed a couple weeks, but I've never seen anything like this with my other dogs. We have been avoiding the heat - this is not burnt paws. Peeling starts from the edges. I was using a paw cleaner for a bit after the park, but I stopped about 10-14 days ago when I noticed this starting to occur. Maybe its an allergic reaction? Its getting worse not better though.

UPDATE*** Vet referred me to a dermatologist that specializes in rare and complex skin issues for dogs. Blood tests and biopsy to follow next week. She said she thinks its a rare type of lupus. I don't know. She didn't tell me why she thinks that specifically. I wish she didn't assume. But she does strongly believe it is autoimmune related. I'm scared and sad.
