Complaint Russians on EUW ruining everything

Just got banned because I play EUW and told 4 Russian teammates to speak English. This happened 2 matches in row so 4 hour ban and low prio. Its so funny reading how "there are bad eggs" argument is spammed here on reddit. Then I see for myself what the reality is.

Article | Esports Dota 2 Team World Ranking September: Yandex remain #1, Spirit jump from #8 to #6 after TI

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve updated the E-Rankings 12-month Dota 2 Team World Ranking with all results through August.

A quick note on what it measures: teams earn points from tournament results, with prize money used to determine each event’s weighting. It reflects performance over the past 12 months, it is not a prediction of who would win a series today.

The main changes:

  • Team Yandex remain #1 with 46,685 points.
  • PARIVISION move from #4 to #3 after finishing runner-up at TI. They also lead the three-month form ranking.
  • TI winners Team Spirit gain 7,500 points and jump from #8 to #6, only 361 points behind Team Liquid.
  • Inactive Tundra Esports remain #2, but lose almost 4,000 points as older results expire.
  • Games of the Future winners PlayTime reach a career-high #17, with runner-up Yakult Brothers climbing to #18.

Which better reflects the current Dota scene: the 12-month ranking with Yandex at #1 or the three-month form ranking led by PARIVISION?

Guides & Tips What is actually holding you back from climbing?

I'm an Immortal player and started coaching about 3 weeks ago. Most of my clients are around 2–4.5k MMR.

I'm curious what you guys struggle with the most when trying to climb:

  • Laning?
  • Map awareness?
  • Knowing when to fight?
  • What to do when not much is happening on the map?
  • Knowing where to play?
  • Decision-making?
  • Something else?

What's the biggest thing you're struggling with right now?

Feel free to comment or DM me.

Discussion Pudge is the best support in Dota 2, and the reason is painfully obvious

Hey everyone. I’m going to say something I know a lot of people here think but are too shy to admit: Pudge is the best support in the game period. And it’s not because of the Hook, the Rot, or the aura of psychological pressure. It’s for a reason that, inexplicably, no one talks about: he has the highest movement speed in all of Dota 2.

Before anyone starts yelling in the comments, stop repeating what Beard said in a 2017 video and go test it in a lobby. Open the client, pick Pudge, and walk around. Now switch to any other hero. Feel the difference? Didn't feel it? That’s because Pudge is so fast that it feels normal. That’s the genius of the balancing his speed is so absurd that IceFrog put it on a level where it goes unnoticed.

Here are a few irrefutable arguments:

Instant rotation. Did your carry blink out of position? Pudge is already there. Or a split-pushing sidelane? Pudge arrives before the TP even finishes channeling. That’s not an exaggeration; that’s game physics.

Rune control. Water rune, power rune, a bottle dropped on the ground it doesn't matter. Pudge simply appears. Other supports are still calculating their path; Pudge has already collected it and returned.

Natural zoning. The mere fact that a Pudge enters your screen at that speed makes you back off. You don’t even need to see the Hook you just feel the wind. No other support causes that effect simply by existing on the map.

Impossible to escape Smoke ganks. Smoke is designed to catch people off guard. When the hero coming out of the Smoke is a Pudge moving at 600 movement speed, you aren't just caught off guard you get run over. There’s no portal, no fog, no salvation.

I know people will say, "But Pudge has 280 base movement speed." Guys, 280 is just km/h converted into Warcraft III units. This was already explained in an old PlayDota thread that was mysteriously deleted. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Here’s the real deal: IceFrog gave the highest speed in the game to the "chunkiest" hero, possibly to test who actually understands Dota and who just parrots what they’ve heard. It’s a classic dev trick putting the best mechanic on the character no one suspects. And it worked perfectly, because here we are in 2026, and most people still think Pudge is slow.

Pudge is the fastest support in Dota 2. Everything else Hook, Dismember, and Rot is just window dressing. What wins games is getting there first. And nobody gets there before Pudge.

Discussion Who do you think the "realest" hero is?

a hero thats not only being real but also stereotypically the players are also being so real. like as in never giving up, always been there for you no matter what and usually somewhat always become the team leader.

toxicity cancels out the "being real" so is inactivity in a team so most pos 1 are out. he must be helping the team from the midgame (everyone is always gonna be individualistic in the laning phase) till end no matter what.

for me the realest hero is Axe, they never gave up. they always try to help you. you get jumped and survive for a while? that axe is contemplating if he should help you and die with you or just run and it always a hard choice for axe players to do that. axe is the only one alive and mega creep is all around the ancient? he calls the creep and pull it to the fountain even if it does not matter at all.

Axe is a real hero, hes the real hero we all needed and also a real brother in our hearts...

Axe go....

Complaint I'm so tired of unbalanced games and trolls in reddit saying I'm the problem

TLDR: Yeah I'm a noob but it can't be the only problem here, what to do ?!

Almost every single game I play everything is massively unbalanced

at first, I listened to all these reddit trolls who said "git gud"

I changed my playstyle, watched pro games, picked up tricks here and there
then I bought Dota plus and checked game quality and other people's winrate and realized I'm not the problem (or the whole problem).

Matchmaking system recently makes the games extremely unbalanced, most of the time enemy team plays far better than what their rank shows, sometimes it happens on our team.

I thought it must be my frustration talking, but when I saw so many instances like the guy with 39% winrate playing like it's International 2027, I couldn't find any more reasons beside either these people are smurfs or the matchmaking algorithm is so damn broken.

I've been playing since 2013 and while we had occasional stomps, it wasn't nowhere near as bad as this. People usually played like what their rank was showing.

And don't get me started on role abusers, I can't count how many games our safe lane picked Lina and we lost, and it happens far more than what you'd call outliers.

So, 2 questions:

1: Why is everyone on reddit says it's my fault? and if it is my own fault, what is exactly my fault and how to fix it?!

  1. How to avoid this insanity?

Personal First time being contacted by Steam Support due to Dota Item Theft

I WAS SO FREAKING SCARED AND OVERWHELMED RECEIVING THIS LOL

I was browsing in Dota 2 Arcade looking for fun modes to play since I was grinding too much ranked games recently. Suddenly my steam account got locked, all my friends has disappeared and then a steam chat appeared out of nowhere with steam support!!!!!!

It was my first time experiencing this situations and oh boy I was freaking overwhelmed like all hell break loose.

but I was thankful and grateful to the kind Sir since he was actually very nice and approachable. Unfortunately I was suspected of Item Theft and the only thing I can think of is that someone reported me.

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'LL EVER COMMIT ITEM THEFT IN FREAKING DOTA 2, LIKE FREAKING HELL I'M A SKIN COLLECTOR AS WELL, I'M JUST HOPING MY ACCOUNT IS SAFE HUHU.

I wonder how they reliably lose these games so quickly, what is the point in this, other than ruining match making experience for others?

Complaint Why the fuck do people still play offlane just to pick Wraith King ?

I play in Legend Rank and I usually play offlane but most of the time that I do not play the role, I always seem to meet players that think radiance WK is a viable offlane hero just because they can tank spells and die twice. I calibrated my MMR in the 3 digits and WK as offlane seems to be the only constant in the different ranks. Fuck WK and Fuck WK offlaners . Thank U

Tool My free open-source Ability Draft overlay now understands roles — and I need your help with tags

Hello everyone, the main Ability Draft Cheater is back with some news!

Some of you might already know my tool, and for those who don't — Ability Draft Plus is a free, open-source overlay that brings the knowledge base from windrun.io into your live Ability Draft games. During the draft you press a hotkey, the app captures the screen and a locally-run ML model recognises all the abilities and heroes on the board. Then it overlays windrun data right on top of your game — winrates, pick order, OP picks worth grabbing and trap picks to avoid — and suggests what to draft. Everything runs locally on your PC and works from a simple screen capture, so it stays completely separate from the game client.

What it couldn't do before was recognise what your teammates are picking and adjust its suggestions on the fly instead of relying on raw data alone. Now it can. Using the ability shift data from windrun alongside personally curated tags, it can identify what your team is drafting, spot the missing role and suggest picks for that position. The only downside is that this part needs game data over GSI (the same official Valve interface that trackers like Overwolf use), so with this option enabled the app is no longer completely separated from the Dota 2 client. It's opt-in though — for users who prefer to stay fully disconnected nothing changes.

And this is where I need your assistance. The tags I've created are basic ability information that helps assign spells to the right roles and round out your build. Some abilities are always recommended for a specific role, while others are blocked from certain roles — or blocked altogether (looking at you, Ransack). I did this based on my own AD experience with the help of a small group of AD enjoyers. One head is good, two are better, the whole hive is the best. I need your help identifying misplaced tags or tags that should be added. Maybe there are combinations worth adding — right now I only have a setting for Rearm to be suggested only when certain abilities are in the pool. Maybe more abilities should always be suggested for specific roles, or never appear in suggestions at all. The same goes for hero models — some are must-picks for pos 1, some for pos 3, some are golden support models. The current list and a detailed explanation of how it works are on the overlay website:

https://tiarinhino.com/ability-tags.html

All of you can submit suggestions there and vote on existing ones. I'll review them regularly, and if a suggestion gets enough votes — or I can instantly see it makes sense — I'll add it to the app logic. I built this tool to make AD more accessible to new players, and I believe this addition can genuinely help newcomers get better at drafting and stick with AD, while helping existing players extend their knowledge.

One more thing — to make the AD viewing experience better, I've also included several streamer tools in this update:

  1. The overlay is now visible as a separate window source, so streamers can add it to their scenes for viewers to see.

  2. A fully automated draft view that shows extra information like winrates, draft order and potential combos in the pool.

  3. With the overlay on and GSI active, it can show a drafted abilities view — a recap for viewers who missed the draft. No more screenshot cropping needed.

  4. I'm working on a Twitch extension that will bring the overlay directly to viewers: mouse over abilities to see windrun stats, description, Aghs and Shard upgrades, check what was drafted by hovering over player icons — and much more for AD tournaments.

The whole tool is open source and free — you can check the source code and download the latest version at https://github.com/Tiarin-Hino/ability-draft-plus or from https://tiarinhino.com/.

Questions and feedback are very welcome in the comments.

P.S. I've also brought the tool to more languages, including all official and community languages from TI, plus Suomi for the Finnish AD community. I'm not proficient in most of them though, so there might be mistakes.
