I planted a dragon fruit tree outside our house around 2024 and this year it decided to bare fruits haha and this was the first fruit ever 😭haha Im kinda curious about how Dragon Fruit bare fruit … like my question is ; Does it normal for Dragon fruit to bare fruit for a long time ??? Because it’s been 2 years now and finally it bare fruit for the first time 🤦🏽‍♀️

Kinda surprised my smaller plant bloomed first even tho I grew them all from seed at the same time. All I know is it’s some type of yellow.

Appeared at the same time as a flush of flowerbuds. It’s divided in three like a branch, but seems to grow petals rather than spines. Flowerbud from the same plant that appeared at the same time attached for reference.

What could have gone wrong? Only two of the flowers shown actually set fruit. Is that a normal amount to abort?

I'm still trying to grow the canopy on this thing. I bought 2 cuttings last Sept, and this past Feb they really took off. I've been cutting the ends off the branches to make more, and this particular branch has several on it. I came out to check on my plants, and I noticed *this*.

Why does it look like asparagus? 🤣

In the spring I got a couple of dragon fruit plants. They were doing fine until recently. I live in zone 9b and it’s been hotter and wetter than average. One of my dragon fruits died after developing these somewhat soft white patches, and it quickly developed rot. By the time I noticed something wasn’t right, it couldn’t be saved. I got a 40% shade cloth for this one, but in the last week it started developing the same spots.

They are only somewhat soft, not mushy, but eventually it will turn into rot. What’s happening to it and is it treatable? Is this something I can avoid in the future?

I just had a burst of flowering on my 3 year old American Beauty. Of the seven blooms that opened over a three day period, I was able to hand-fertilize five of then with a mixed-bag of pollen (AB, Voodoo Child, and Halley's Comet). The other two bloomed while I was out of town. Yesterday I saw that three fruits are green and plumping up, while the other four yellowed and withered. I was disappointed that I did not get 100% fruit set from the ones I hand pollinated. Is that unreasonable? What are your success rates and does it vary significantly by variety? This is the first time I have had more than one or two flower at a time.

The Voodoo Child next to it flowered and I missed it, so I hand pollinated it the next day when it was all floppy and sad. I am not optimistic about those.

Charlotte, NC area. Novice DF grower, second season, started from small cuttings, and getting surprisingly vigorous growth for the timeframe

Setup: a 100-gallon nursery pot with 4-5 different DF varieties (can’t recall all the names off the top of my head).

I noticed 6 or so flower buds on my Connie Mayer yesterday, but I’m striking out finding pollen online (sites and FB Marketplace).

Can anyone help? Looking to buy or receive pollen as I would hate to miss the window with the season winding down.

I've had this cactus for years. Got a 3" cutting in a shipment of succulents. It took my neglect. It grew...sort of. Then I had the bright idea to put it outside. We got a ton of rain and it did crazy growing things and I think it's a dragonfruit cactus, but I have no idea. Anyway, I've been treating it like one this summer and it certainly upped the growth rate on me. Any suggestions of what to remove/transplant/save/etc?

I've cut off branches that had it to try to prevent it spreading and it keeps coming back again. It starts as a little tiny dot then grows into this soft rotten spot then grows about as big as a quarter then pops/rots and leaves a hole. It spreads if I don't cut it off and contaminates the whole branch. It mostly happens where the areoles (thorns) are at. It is now near my first and only fruit and I don't want it to ruin the fruit. What is it and what do I do to stop this? Google image search said it's a fungus, but it's AI so I want human opinions! Thank you so much!

We got a tiny plant from Epcot about two years ago and these are the first buds we’ve seen. I have two questions:

1. How long do they take before blooming on average? We’re in central Florida.

2. Does anyone know if the dragonfruit from Livin’ With the Land in Epcot is self-pollinating?

Anyone know what could have caused this damage?

I put my three Townsend Pink cuttings in their trellis in the spring. they grew pretty quickly and I got the first five buds on the oldest of the cuttings last month. Four out of five pollinated fruit took and I picked its first three fruit two days ago, the last is not quite ready yet. Over the last three night I have had eight more flower, so fingers crossed I get a few of those to take.

This is my first Connie Mayer blooming while I was at work. I hand pollinated it as soon as I got home around 7:30 AM. I hope it will accept. We will find out in a few days. 🤞

Growing in zone 9B in Florida in loamy soil, just some bird netting for protection and direct sun.

This branch is still growing straight up and has two buds right next to each other at the tip. Velcro’s have been wrapped around u-posts on either side for support as it’s been swaying a lot with wind/storms, not sure if anything more we can do.

Seen comments before about tying something with weight around the branch to help it droop down since it hasn’t on its own, but we want to avoid putting too much strain on it. Any advice to give it its best shot at flowering and not breaking? Thank you!

Pink Panther and Purple Haze so far is my two favorite this year. DarkStar is an amazing variety don’t get it twisted.

Am I doing it right? I was thinking about potting it up, it’s been a year since I last did. I grew it from seed in some toilet paper.

It’s been a few years since my plants gave fruit.
