Hello everyone,
The DB Companion update, which I've been working on (nightly) for a while, is being released.

I've made many small improvements, including to make it more familiar to the paper version and to help players manage their characters.

But I've worked hard to allow those who are starting (or helping) this game get started as quickly as possible, with new and more familiar pre-generated characters.

I have to thank you for your support and for the suggestions you constantly send me. I hope I've satisfied everyone.

Como GM'S, permiten l creación de nuevas magias, o bien modificaciones en los hechizos, ej, usar jaula vegetal que para hacer crecer las raíces y poder escalar.

Que ideas de este tipo han permitido?

For fun factor and only fun....is it a useless mage who only have magic tricks? Hugin the Magnificent 😀

Our game we have a new players and he's got a fun idea. A fresh apprentice of an old mage, a young adult unlucky fellow.

Knows magic but only the tricks....so he starts the game with 6 magic tricks and 0 real spell 😀

Next game this mage will be tested 😀

In the future he's got spells but we are realy curious how it works if you only have tricks....but also got ego.

So in the game you use willpower and if you run out of willpower you can replenish from HP.

My question is, is there another way to...I dont know....from magical places or maybe magical artifacts can store power....to replenish willpower?

Not like a mana potion kind, cause its willpower yes....but can meditate to drain magical places or artifacts?

The foundry implementation of Dragonbane is just top notch, from the community modules from amazing authors and the official purchase products I'm so impressed. The system solo play isn't just great, they got the best Solo designer in the industry to help create it in Shawn. As a system it's just very well done and foundry takes that to the next level.

Jag spelar Drakar och Demoner/Dragonbane solo för tillfället. När jag förflyttar mig I en stad eller I det vilda så hade jag velat ha en riktlinje för hur många gånger jag ska slå för encounters. Jag har funderat att I staden ha något baserat på vilken tid på dygnet det är. Till exempel 1 gång för dagtid, 2 gånger för kväll och 2 gånger för natt med ökade risker för att träffa på något?

Vid resande tänker jag bara något enkelt som att slå lika många gånger som skift de reser.

Hur gör ni?

I am reading the campaign book of Secret of the Dragon Emperor and I recognized that the big map of Outskirt (Randweiler in German) looks very different from the small picture on the Misty Vale map. In fact, while I do like the dark style of the village map in general, I much more prefer the "realistic" approach that you can see on the Misty Vale map. The acres mentioned in the town description are visible and the temple doesn't look so grim and dark like in the town map.

Does anyone else have the same feeling about this? I know, it is a small detail. But the dark and grim townmap carries a completely different vibe than the picture of Outskirt on the Misty Vale map.

Got an email that the Book of Magic and Arkand City of Waves and Flames got their full English release today on the Free League site.

The Daggerheart community has Heart of Dagger which is a super great tool! Do Dragonbane has anything like it or is it something we could had?

I have a question about the Temple Of The Winds. Since there are no walls, can’t characters just walk around the door? I am guessing that nothing happens if they do, because it sounds like passing through the doors triggers the encounter.

This scenario is an adaptation of “PRIS AU PIÈGE” (TRAPPED) by Spiritual-Coconut563 ( https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonbaneRPG/comments/1gu1kzd/trapped_an_introductory_adventure_for_dragonbane/ ). In addition to the characters they create—a process undertaken during the course of the scenario—the players should leave the inn with a compelling reason to explore OUTSKIRT as part of the “Secret of the Dragon Emperor” campaign or to start your own home-made campaign. Perfect for new or younger players.

I hope this isn't a duplicate, I scrolled back 10 days and didn't see anything.

A week or so ago I pre ordered the book of magic from FL's website. It shipped sometime this week.

It still lists on the website as pre order. Which certainly gave me pause about fulfillment, and the sale went through as a pre order.

I didn't order Arkand, so I can't speak to that.

W2A2 is a VTT tool that was created with a few big principles in mind: make any TTRPG session as easy to play as possible, be user friendly for beginners but still offer advanced tools for more experienced players, and most importantly, be affordable and not subscription based.

This app stores everything locally and allows the GM to host a game in a matter of minutes, without having to pay for any hosting services. It includes all things you'd normally expect from a VTT tool, and a few additional features that we thought of while testing through our own sessions.

App is still in development, should be available in a few weeks! 

Things like how long a torch lasts and how long you can walk during this time, and random encounters and traps, that stuff.

If they exist I cannot find them and would appreciate if you can point me to a page number.

Hi guys I'm quite new to Dragonbane.

I started the quickstart scenario with my 3 kids (aged 14 12 and 9). I don't really feel like following the campaign they have for now. I want to homebrew and wing it.

Ive been DMing since dnd 3rd edition so i have some experience in it BUT i don't know how to build an encounter with this system. I know its really not like Dnd but I want my kids to have fun and grow slowly with it to learn the basic of the game. For them and me too cause from what ive read it seems fantastic.

Anyway long story short I want to build things that are plausible and don't want to party wipe my kids🤣🤣

One of my players was no hesi murdering some folks, and I gave her the option to accept a ring. Given to her by the in universe god of Blood and Misfortune.
After 3 killing blows it changes from a ring into a glove and allows her to cast Boiling Blood (an Unaqi attack) as a free action. It’s def strong, I’m trying to think of some downsides.

At first I thought a good option would be a mental corruption, as she doesn’t activate boiling blood she gets more and more unstable and volatile until she unleashes it. Thus far she’s fired it pretty much as it’s ready. Wondering if there are other mechanics or ideas people have that would be a little more consistent or common.
