Ugh

Why on this earth do I keep dreaming of my ex of 26+ years??? This is becoming annoying as hell...

brain's got a weird filing system for old memories and apparently your ex got put in the "randomly replay at 3am" folder. 26 years is a long time for that ghost to be hanging around though, what do you think triggers it?

Happens to me also, a lot. It feels almost like we haven't broken up and like I'm cheating on my current SO. It's weird. It's pretty obvious that it's unresolved feelings from the relationship. Oddly, I like seeing her and interacting with her.

Probably because unconscious part of you wish it lasted and keep using dreams as outlets to satisfy what's been stopped. Some sort of emotional regulation.
