It’s only my second visit (first at Slane in 2013) but just had an absolute blast for 3 days, without the awful Slane walking aspect which I swear is what broke me in the first place.

Every place we went in, my wife and I (edited from me and the wife) 😂were welcomed like we had just stopped in from up the road. (I guess we kinda did as I’mScottish) by people around, and loved the bars and restaurants there. Had great conversations with pure randoms that are now our besties, and our accommodation host in Drumcondra was so helpful.

Whilst access to the gig itself was a little confusing (ended up with front pit tickets we definitely didn’t book so not complaining!) we had the best time, and I have a disability and everyone was so accommodating.

Had a great time with some girls me and my wife met from Belfast, watching Boomtown Rats was kind of surreal (only know the song I don’t like Monday cause Bob sang it with JBJ) and felt very well looked after, so just thank you. 🙏

Not many cities can be louder than Edinburgh, but to be fair you were close! Have my imaginary 2nd place award thingy! Better luck next time.

Hi! I wanted some advice regarding hiking in Dublin and its surroundings. I'm from the Basque Country, a place full of greenery and mountains, and I enjoy hiking from time to time.

So, as I'll be studying in Dublin for the autumn semester, I was wondering whether there are good routes that I can reach without a car. I don't mind a long journey in public transport, as long as I get there.

Any suggestions for hikes that I absolutely must do? I've looked up some already, but I'd really like to hear from people who've actually done them. Which ones are the musts??

I’m a yoga teacher in Wicklow and I’m really intrigued to know how much yoga teachers in Dublin are being paid in the likes of Yogahub / Yoga Dublin etc. The class sizes are much bigger compared to smaller studios in smaller towns etc, so I’m interested to know how the pay compares against the profit the studio makes from each client.

In my drunken state on my way home last night I passed by a HUGE tour bus parked outside the Christchurch NYX hotel. Like when I say huge I mean huge. Could see through the front window there was a whole kitchen, lounge and other rooms. Some guy was out the front with luggage, long hair and American accent and I (embarrassingly) just went up and asked him if he’s famous to which he replied “I mean… I don’t know”..! Any idea which group it could be? Was like a fever dream in my intoxicated state lmao

I’ll be commuting from Dublin to Galway three days a week for work, and I’m planning to drive to Heuston Station and take the train.
The first Galway train I need to catch is around 5:45am.
I can see that the Heuston Station car park is listed as opening at 6:00am, but that would be too late for me.
Does anyone regularly use the Heuston Station car park for the early morning trains?
Is there a way to enter the car park before 6:00am, or is there another nearby car park that allows access around 5:00am?
Any advice from people who commute to Galway early in the morning would be appreciated.

Hi all! I am so excited to go see the PCD. I booked an Ireland trip from the USA (since they cancelled zzz) to go see them (as well as the insane Irish landscape).

I am about to get my tickets for the 3ARENA , my husband is going with me. I need to know if it is best to choose a seat or standing ticket.

I am not sure how many people are going to their show, seats looks like there are quite a few available, but I don't know about standing. I am 5"2' and wanted to be up close so bad but at the same time don't know how many people will be there and how tall they would be 🤣🫠

I am in between VIP standing, or row 22 seated (since row 21 cannot stand zzz)

My job has me on the road for most of the day, so I spend a lot of time watching drivers. I have no idea why, but there’s been a huge spike in the last three days of people driving in a very rude way. I’ve been cut off from taking turns, seen at least twice as many people using the bus lanes, and I’ve seen a huge spike in people driving through a red light. What is going on?

Let me preface this by saying I am Irish born and bred ‘catholic’ i.e., my Grandparents were super religious. My parents less so, but we still went to mass every Christmas and Easter growing up, and I went to a catholic school.

As is the case with many, I became completely disillusioned with the Catholic Church and religion in general. However, specifically on the Catholic Church, they committed some of the worst atrocities the island has ever seen and I am of the opinion that this should never be forgiven nor forgotten.

What astounds me now, is that I see so many people that I grew up with who are deciding to christen their kids in the Catholic faith. I know for a fact that almost all of these people are not religious or actually believe in the Catholic religion. Similarly, I see people still getting married with Catholic weddings.

It is absolutely bizarre to me. What are we doing here? I understand that some people won’t feel as strongly as I do, but I know for a fact that 90% of the people I grew up with see it all as bullshit and yet we still see church weddings and baptisms. It makes me cringe honestly.

But am I missing something? Interested to hear the opinions of others.
