Bike modes

So I’m a relatively new motorcyclist and purchased a 2025 Panigale V2 in February of this year. It’s my second motorcycle after riding a Ninja 500 for a year.
I’ve always kept it on “sport” mode and recently just switched it to “race” mode and goodness gracious it’s like a completely different machine. The exhaust is louder I think and it’s a lot more aggressive on acceleration. I didn’t realize it would make that much of a difference. I had a difficult time getting to 130-140 on the track in sport mode but easily got to that on race mode.
Any reason why? Or am I just psyching myself out?

Better watch out, Desmo maintenance probably still expensive on those 2035 models.

Edit: op had originally typo’d to say a 2035 model and this comment was for the memes.

Sport Mode

  • Power Output: Delivers full maximum horsepower, but channels it through a smoother, more progressive throttle map.
  • Throttle Response: Predictable and less abrupt, making it ideal for twisty roads, traffic, and general cruising.
  • Electronic Aids: Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) are set to higher, more intrusive intervention levels for increased street safety.
  • Display Layout: Retains standard street-focused layouts, highlighting the speedometer and trip details.

Race Mode

  • Power Output: Delivers full engine power with an immediate, raw, and explosive reaction to the twist of the grip.
  • Throttle Response: Sharp and highly direct (often stock-set to "High"), meaning less wrist rotation is required to access hard acceleration.
  • Electronic Aids: Traction control, wheelie control, and engine braking controls are lowered to minimal intervention levels; cornering ABS may be disabled or reduced depending on the model year.
  • Display Layout: Shifts focus to track essentials like a prominent lap timer and a compact speedometer.

Try Claude or Gemini , above was from Gemini
