This is a problem

Post image

I *may* have a new gaming addiction. If you saw my first post, I got this game on Google Play Pass and didn't play it at first.

Since then, I decided to just go ahead and buy it on the Switch so I could play it with a proper controller setup, and support the devs so hopefully they drop more content in the future.

Haven't really had a favorite game like this since BOI, and I haven't had the energy/desire to play that for ages. This is the first game in a while that I'd absolutely drop money on for DLC.

Currently working my way through playing them all on the different difficulties, and the biggest tips I have are:

Transforming everything to cloth makes it easier for the propeller to blow away. Go slow with the propeller, but not *too* slow.

Also, gold and poison are some of the most OP mechanics in the game. Fire sucks imo (don't come for me) and I only managed beating Blaze by going hard on the gold and gold daggers.

The controller I use for my Switch Lite because it developed stick drift. 🀌🏻

The developers are active on their Discord and frequently testing new things and talking to the community about ideas for things to add.

I was a tester for the game back in the day so by the time it came out I excitedly tried the new features which were all awesome and then went back too different games but I keep an eye on the Discord because I will always return to test out what new stuff they add in!

I feel like fire needs a hand few of perks to go crazy but it's not always guaranteed you get them

It’s true. Fire *does* suck.

Blaze was one of my least favorite playthroughs for this reason. Just atrocious

Yeah, fire's bad but at least with Blaze, you get a given fire stack to stick around for another turn. Still nowhere near as useful as poison, though.

I truly expected the fire stacks to be so much better, but yeah poison is definitely the better method. The item synergies with it are better as well.

It reminds me of when BOI was still in the earlier stages, there were a lot of things to work out with the characters and item synergies.

I'm sure this game will get there as well, and I cannot wait to see how far they take it.

I think if fire isn't going to stick around like poison, then it should maybe stay, for all characters, for one more turn, being reduced by half after the first turn of it on an enemy, and then with a high chance of spreading to other adjacent enemies.

So, 3 enemies, one has 50 fire. It hurts them for that much, and then is reduced to 25 fire, and the other two enemies get 25 fire on them. Next turn, first enemy gets damaged for 25, then their fire disappears, other two enemies get hurt for 25 each, then next turn, they're down to 12 or 13 fire, depending on rounding.

Ohhhhhh I like that actually, that would be a pretty good mechanic. 🧐

My main thing is fire shouldn't just be relegated to 'a worse poison', which is what it is. Even with Blaze, that's still only an extra turn. If it's not going to act like poison, then it needs some sort of 'hook' to make at least some people able to argue for using it, rather than everyone universally dismissing it (and rightly so).

See I just thought there was something I was missing with the fire, but I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that thinks it's useless.

Hopefully devs balance it all out in the future!! :3

Hopefully!

One more thing about how fire is 'poison but worse': poison completely ignores block, whereas fire has to take down shields first before doing any damage to an enemy. This is great for the player when they're on fire, but awful when using it against enemies.

It's so true. 😭

I tried several runs with Blaze, doing what I had with the other characters. Enhancing and playing off of their skills, it was an enjoyable experience; and a great way to learn the item/synergy mechanics.

That didn't happen with Blaze. It just felt like it got harder, if anything. So I found myself playing into Gold instead, and I only won with him because of the absurd amount of money I had, causing the Golden Daggers to be insanely powerful.

It truly is!! First game I have found in a while that fills that role.

I also like that you can drop it at any point and jump right back in without losing progress

Literally!! I remember being worried I had to quit mid-run and was pleasantly surprised to realize it saves right there.

This game is definitely in my replayable collection. I don't have many of those, and I'm super happy to add another.

BOI was such a good one for me that I've bought it on multiple platforms, and I've probably put in about 500 hours or so into the series.

I can see this one being the same for me.

How did you unlock the secret character to the right of Necronancy? Please πŸ₯Ί

I believe she's the one where I had to upgrade every item in my deck to unlock her. There's another where you have to transform every item in your deck as well!
