General Question Army EOD

I’m considering enlisting as an 89D and wanted to hear from those currently serving. What has your overall experience been like? How are the opportunities for field work, and what are the duty stations like?

Significantly better than the regular Army. Much more down to earth for day to day. You do stateside response on a rotation so getting real life work is common, especially in satellite units. It is wildly better overall. BUUUUTTTTT. It is still the Army and I am, albeit rarely, thoroughly reminded of that. That said, I love this job and will easily do 20 with some light Army grade gymnastics.

I signed up for a short four year contract to get federal service time for the police department. That was over 16 years ago…best job I ever had.

In-Service EOD Recruiter for the active guys who picked the wrong job from the start. Happy to answer questions and dispel any bad/lack of information your street recruiter may have.
