Overland build

Is it worth to create a separate build for overland? If so, what set combination is appropriate? (playing vestige difficulty btw)

Honestly, I would run the regular solo set up but with a sword and shield instead of dual wield for more block mitigation and bit more armor. Also update 51 going to make trial set more effective in overland by making minor slayer affect all monsters instead of just in instances.

I run one on my main for all questing, world bosses, exploration, etc...

I like subclassing with the templar aedric ulti, ink and beam from the arcanist, and the storm calling line from the sorc. Lots of damage while maintaining speed and solid defense.

You are going to want sets that do a lot of damage for world bosses or vestige generally (tideborn, velothi mythic, arena weapon, etc...) and try to get your defense from skills when possible. Speed matters so make sure you have major expedition (minor too if possible) or speed traits on jewelry (one or the other, you just want to be faster than average). Defense matters so make sure you have resolve up and a solid heal with passive heals (this is why I like storm calling: streak to escape, hurricane with minor expedition, crit surge for passive healing).

It is good to assign champ points to the places where you know you will need on that overland build. So if you only fish on that character, reduce the time between catches etc... There are a bunch of these you might only use on your main exploring character. Again, get all the speed ones too.

I think using a regular solo setup works. Use ring of the pale order if youre soloing.

If youre not soloing, using a tank/heal/dps build like you would in actual content would work. Except that you need less pen, and that the oen you do need is more important

Actually pale order is pretty weak in challange overland past seasoned. Because it directly scales in power with how much damage you deal, the reduced damage done modifier really hinders it's ability to heal you significantly.

OP, I would say yes if you plan on doing significant stuff in vestige. For passive healing, skills like structured entropy that heal for a flat amount every time it ticks are great. Combine with going max hp (~40k) and some damage shields that scale with max hp and you can have great survivability. One skill that absolutely SHREDS in vestige is Spiked Bone Wall. Because it reflects 100% of direct damage done to you while active, and you take 600% more damage, hitting it right before you take a big hit from a world boss means BIG damage to the boss.

That swift ring, speed and harvest champion points, solo build would be great for overland!
