Hello photographers and editors!
I've recently received a message from the Reddit Admins about video comments. I turned them off since I didn't really think it's applicable to this sub, but the feature doesn't go live until the end of the week so I wanted to get feedback from everyone before being a stereotypical mod and making a unilateral decision and ignoring all other input.
So before you go and throw in a comment, here's the rundown on the feature. Essentially, it lets you post videos in the comments. That's it. Nothing too fancy, nothing extravagant, and nothing that hasn't been available with creating links in the past.
It's something that I haven't had any complaints about, or issues with working around. As a RAW sharing sub, it just doesn't seem that practical to me.
But in all fairness, it could allow for screenshares of workflows. Which hasn't been an issue in any way from my perspective, but again I'd appreciate feedback before making a unilateral decision.
The other use this feature brings up is video editing.
Is there any interest in opening up this sub somewhat by allowing and promoting editing of video footage? With the video comment feature we could have a second weekly challenge for grading video footage, but the history of the sub has been solely focused on RAW edits for stills. It will be a change, if that is wanted.
My main concern with the video edits is that this is already a small and niche subreddit. Expanding it may just cause extra work setting up and running a video competition without any actual participants. While we're small enough we could handle the influx of users, we may be too small to bring in new users to make the video edits work.
So now that you've read through my overly-long rant, what are your thoughts? Do we want to open up video comments, and possibly bring in video editing to the subreddit? Or do we want to keep everything as-is?

The Official Weekly RAW Editing Challenge!
Every week, we post a new RAW file for you to edit - the moderators will provide a link to the file in the comments section. After you have downloaded the file and made all the edits you wish, post a link to your final edit in this thread so other users can upvote their favourite edits. The winner is the user with most upvotes by the end of the week.
The winner can send us one of their photos to be used in next week's competition.
Rules:
This thread will be in contest mode until the end of the week. This means comment scores will be hidden and submissions will not display in any particular order.
Note:
If there is no link to a RAW file in the comments section, the moderators are still waiting for a file from last week's winner and will provide a link to the file as soon as one is available.

Hey guys,
Have a question for you.
Doing editing in lightroom mobile, and almost every time I find out that I over sarurate photos.
In my display it seems ok, but when I look at my monitor or other person cellphones I see that it is too much edited.
I am not thinking about adding presets, just plain old masking.
What's the best way for control? Like, for lighting there is histogram.
Thanks!

I took photos of dragonflies last week at a wetland reserve in west London, UK.
Here's the RAW (RAF format) and here's my jpg edit. Would love to see other people's edits!

Hey, I'm a new photographer, and don't have many photos yet, but would like to practicing photo editing for what my future photography will be like. I'm just looking for eerie, liminal space-esque photos, as well as photos of amazing locations, whether it be a forest, a city sky line, or a small island. Day and night photos both! Thanks in advance.

I have a small collection of RAWs that I'll never edit for various reasons (didn't like the framing, or the lighting, or they aren't vibing with my style, or I just don't think they're salvageable). I'd love to see what you do with any of these! Hopefully this is fun for someone. All of these are CR3.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to improve my real estate editing and I'm looking for one small RAW bracketed set (10–20 images) to work on.
If anyone has an older shoot they're happy to share, I'd love to edit it and send the finished images back.
If you like the results, I'd appreciate permission to use the before/after in my portfolio. If not, I'll keep everything private.
Thanks!
