Question First time trying long and short stitch
First time trying the long and short stitch (finally!)The picture given wasn't clear. I used the stem stitch for the outline and chain stitch for the top of the vase. Did I do too many stitches for the long and short part? Should I make the longer parts even longer?

I really like the stitches you did on the vase. I definitely wouldn't make them any shorter. Mayyyyybe a TINY bit longer? But the length they are looks great to me.
The original is AI so dont even bother trying to copy that exactly. Do whatever YOU think looks best!

Also: you are supposed to have black stitches on the left and lighter ones on the right and then blend them together to make the shading effect. Does it make sense?
Love the books! So pretty and cute 😭

Yea but the written instructions only say use one color of thread, another hallmark of it being AI

This is nicely done, but is that book on the far left conforming to the shape of the vase you have yet to fill in, or is that a perspective issue on my end?

No, I find it looks a little strange. I'll prob redo that part once I'm done with the rest of it

Hmm, it took me awhile of playing around at first. Like I tried to poke the needle through first and if it looked right I continued. After awhile I could tell which ones were not in line and just redid them. I had to be a little more patient because I had to backtrack and redo the ones I didnt like. Just keep trying it out and see what works for you :) I hope this helps!

Please know that the patten is AI so you’ll never get it to look exactly like that. You’ve done a really good job! I’d probably have done longer stitches for the vase body BUT I really like the texture you’ve created!
