Social 6 month difference

Progress pics of my 4 year old ottb. First picture is from April , I had owned him for two months and he had just gotten castrated. The last two are from tonight. The dude is still growing like a weed, but boy is he looking good.

3 lbs Triple Crown Senior gold (I know he’s 4, but the senior is amazing)
Free choice 1st cut Timothy
2 lbs alfalfa cubes
1/2 cup of flax
We also got his tummy sorted out (ulcers, as is usual when they come off the track) which made a world of difference.
Maybe I’m biased, but I think he looks pretty dang good 😝
(He’s also been out of work for a month due to abscesses and my own injury, so he’s lacking good muscle)

He’s gonna event (and probably do some show jumping too)! He was gonna be my show jumper prospect, but he’s too nonchalant about everything to not event. This picture was when I took him to the beach for last open day, that wheel ended up flying into him a minute later, and I thought to myself “he’s too brave to not dabble in eventing”.

Yes!!! I love it - a lot of them love to event, and are GOOD at it! I’m amazed at how 🤷🏻‍♀️ he is about all that going on - although, that reflects his trust in you too 🥹

ETA: is a little-ish guy, or are you tall? I’m kind of a fan of the pony+ size, lol 😂

He’s truly a gem. He raced at a big casino (a whopping 3 times before he refused to come out of the start gate) which I think plays into it a lot. I hadn’t owned an ottb in a few years before him, and he’s reminded why I love the breed! Even debated buying another one retiring by the same sire a few months ago because I love him so much 🤣

I totally get it - I grew up with quarter horses, and was always kind of unsure about TB’s (too spicy!). Then I got to know them better when I started taking lessons at an eventing barn - if QH’s are dogs, TB’s are cats 😂

I love the start gate thing - some of them just seem to decide that they don’t wanna do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m glad he’s such a gem - you two are going to have so much fun!

Very impressive!! Glad he blossomed into his big booty lol, so much power in that hind end.

I sent these to my father, he said “when did you get into quarter horses?” He’s a true tank now. And he’s got a stride to match. My trainer says my hardest job when he starts jumping will be shortening his stride to 12’🤣

He's got 2 years of growing to do yet.
