Hi! I just recently found the Louisiana demo and I’m in love with how she sings in it. I’m looking for an artist/song similar to how she sings in Louisiana, not necessarily the acoustics in the background.

I’m unfortunately not a huge Nicole Dollanger fan; she doesn’t sound similar to Ethel Cain to me!

how did she achieve the dark and intense feeling from a production standpoint? all production on willoughby sounds so warm how did she do that

It's almost like a form of meditation. I have a tendency to see shapes, patterns, etc when it's dark, or when I close my eyes. I know it's a common occurrence for most people, but I find that, mixed with feeling unencumbered, is a great feeling.

I'm sorry if someone else posted or it's already known it's fam made or something but I found this while browsing through this app with movies/shoes called Refract.

hey y’all. i started listening to ethel after i randomly saw her on tour earlier this year. idk what i thought her music was but i was totally wrong. i’ve been obsessed since that moment.

but the song i really wanna talk about is waco, texas. like what i think is genuinely one of the best songs ever written. 15 minutes long with the immediacy of a pop song is black magic. the constant crescendo. the commitment to pure sonic pleasure. that final wordless climax with the layers upon layers of vocals. i just think it’s really special how she allowed this song to grow so organically and wasn’t afraid to take a chance on such a long song. because very second is earned. it’s just beautiful

this will probably sound entitled but i’ve always felt like as an autistic fan, and with hayden being autistic and it obviously playing such a huge role in her artistic process, do yall also feel like we kinda connect in a very specific, deep, different and significant level? my dad sometimes even laughs (lovingly) when i cry to her music within the first notes, while im studying or baking, he says that you don’t need to put a label or explanation on love but i feel so desperate to understand why her music impacts me in such a way… tysm
