MLOA

So I took a mloa about almost a month ago and I submitted documentation within the same day of taking my leave. But I have not received any emails or response from dls in regards to my documentation. The past times I’ve taken leave they emailed me saying they need documentation or the case closing. I’m worried about my job I don’t have time to cover if not approved.. I submitted documentation though so I don’t understand what’s going on. Am I screwed?

The provisional approval thing tripped me up the first time I dealt with DLS too. If the comment from the person who actually works there is accurate, you're not screwed, the case is just sitting in a queue waiting on the tech team to batch close it. The silence is frustrating but it doesn't mean denial.

Keep your documentation receipts in case someone comes back with questions later.

Your documentation was incomplete. It will remain provisionally approved & eventually the tech team will revert to approve & close the case. I work for DLS & an unpaid leave will not be overturned even if the documentation did not meet the serious health condition criteria. You’re good & I’m sure of this because that will be the next question

Last time I had insufficient documentation they emailed me though. I haven’t had an email once since the day I started my leave. You sure man? 🥺 I can’t lose my job

The letters requesting documentation are auto generated and the system has been updated to stop the letters if you have submitted anything. I am positive you are good. This is why I don’t respond because everyone just second guesses it.

Is there a reason why it’s taking so long for my case to officially close though? It has nothing to do with them waiting for anything on my end?

Been there before I haven’t heard anything before and the longest I waited was over 2 months

You haven’t taken many leaves is why your leaves got provisionally approved as a courtesy. Most likely they will not be provisionally approved in the future unless there is a significant amount of time in between. The case will close when the tech team closes them in batches. We can’t manually close a provisionally approved case. It is not a priority to close cases as the tech team has issues that take priority. The system has an algorithm that we don’t know on the provisional approvals.

Depending on the leave since its a generate approval once your case manager checks it you normally get like some forms of your leave, If its a mental leave they may ask for your primary care provider or other to help fill in the forms and when to when you need a leave. Doctors notes etc

I would always check with HR you don't have to fully discloser your condition but you are able to let them or ask them about any additional questions or concerns.

Hr just gonna say contact dls because hr doesn’t deal with dls or anything related to dls. I know from personal experiences and just getting redirected by both my site hr and dls. I say keep calling them and if worse you can escalate and open a case or call them to make a it a priority but even with that sometimes you’re just left feeling you been left on delivered
