Image O2 sensor Install problem

Hello,

I am trying to install a new downstream passenger side O2 sensor. The previous one was damaged at the top and some wires were cut. As I put in the new one, It seems like there is not enough room to get the O2 sensor into place to begin screwing it in. Is this common?

Looks like someone put o2 extenders into the exhaust pipe. This is usually to trick the computer into not throwing a cel for an aftermarket or deleted cat

If you remove that piece your gonna have Christmas lights on dash. People also do this if the catalytic converter is bad. Prevents engine code/Christmas lights.

Already have christmas lights throwing error code for these. I got all new sensors for upstream and downstream and am replacing them, hoping to get rid of the christmas lights.

They make 90 degree extensions if you eventually need one

To get it to fit, you screw the o2 sensor into the extension first then screw the whole thing in.

If you're getting rid of the sensor extender, I'll take it and pay for shipping!!!
