First Time Custom Build!

Hey yall, decently new into the community, have a couple hundred hours in sims and lots of hours flying a friends woops but I really want to build my own drone. I found a kit I was interested in, but cannot find in Canada, it was the Bardwell QAV-S 2, I’m not 100 sure weather I want to build a 4s 3.5 or a 6s 5” but would anyone in here be able to help me sort out a parts list?

Sorry if this is an ignorant request, I have tried to do some research alone but I find myself getting overwhelmed at times with so many different options and comparability’s. Also I have done previous projects in the past with soldering like digital NVG’s and a Raspberry Pi arcade, just looking for a project to sink into over the crappynweather that is coming

Don't buy it. I started with it and dont get me wrong. The Video series is really good. It's all u need to learn for a beginner, but the parts aren't good. They are overpriced and hard to get. U crash a lot as a beginner and having something like a tinywoop is so much more fun cause it like never breaks. Also having a drone in "winter" is ass.

But yeah I am thinker by my self and fpv is like a masterpiece hobby as one. So get into it but not with this kit

I was thinking of getting the air75 as well just for flying in the house over the winter, and just wanted a project to tinker with and build, are there better guides out there with parts lists, I’d even be inclined to build a 3.5” 4s over the winter if I could get a parts list and diagram at least!

Maybee look up the unbreakable Build from Nils Vo if u want to build after a proven design.

I started looking for parts to randomly put together but realized quickly that i didnt have enough experience. My first ever drone was the hd kit that bardwell has that came with the o3! It was such an amazing way to learn how to build a quad AND how to manage through betaflight, which honestly is horrendous. It is easier to learn flying with a 5" than a whoop for sure but the damage is also greater if you mess up and were to hit someone / something. They're more stable and easier to handle than a smaller whoop og 3"-4". Plus he also has a incredibly detailed tutorial on every single step to get you up in the air. Highly recommend the kit.

I’d love the HD or the Analog kit but sourcing it in Canada seems impossible :( but I was leaning towards that kit specifically because I could follow along with the videos haha

Yeah thats the main reason i got it as i came into the building part quite blind.

I have no idea. Im in Norway so i dont often order from getfpv. Import tax is killer here...

I think you need to find a price range for the amount you are ready to spend on a drone and also know what type of flying you want to do (eg freestyle, race, long range). If you don’t have an idea of what you want to fly, picking the part will be impossible in my opinion

Sorry my apologies typed it out at work and was rushing, limit would probably be 6-800$ (Canadian) I’m more interested in freestyle flying personally! Probably looking more towards HD over analog too! I hope that helps a little sorry again!
