I tried out Cosmic Void after looking at a few swatches of the different purples. There aren’t many videos to reference unfortunately! I ended up choosing Pluto Plum. It’s a very blue based purple and I love it. The stains come out easily from my bathtub, it seems to fade not as quickly as IroIro as well.

On Thursday we bleached my virgin hair and dyed it blue. It was supposed to be a true, navy blue but a lot of it ended up teal because of the warmth. I wish she had warned me that we may not achieve the color I asked for, but I can live with it and understand it’s color theory.

The problem is that I’ve only washed once since then (on Sunday, I waited so I didn’t accidentally stain someone’s tub while traveling) and can see bits of the blonde poking through. Like is it just me, or does this already look lived in??

The stylist had recommended using Overtone at home to reapply color when needed, but doing that within a week of the appointment feels like I’m shouldering the burden instead of the professional. Should I ask her to apply a glaze at no cost? Is this normal for vivids or for the first time bleaching dark hair? I did a similar thing a few years back with the same stylist and don’t remember noticing the blonde so early, but I have had other quality issues with her recently for the first time in 10 years.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help. I’m currently a minty green (pic 1) and I’m getting very bored of it.

I’ve once put a 2:1 ratio blue:purple mix into my hair and gotten a deep indigo color (see picture 2) which faded out back into my current mint in about 3 weeks.

I want to do something two toned or just different to my hair without bleaching anything other than my roots but I don’t want to be dark blue again and want some stark contrast.

I’ve attached some inspiration pics I’ve found on Pinterest and am looking for advice on what would sit best on my hair and how i could achieve it.

Just dyed my hair bright bright red and the only research I could find was for a dark red and mines like neon. Would it change the color darker using that type? I did bleach my hair idk if that helps

Hi, friday i did a full bleach and ended up with this color, I did do a lavender toner but it doesn't seem to have helped as much as I hoped (probably because I should have done an ash/blue one) but now im wondering if I should do a bleach bath to lighten a bit more before I do a T14 toner, thoughts?

I would like an icy light blonde if possible but I know it might not be but I do want it to not be as warm. I started with super dark brown virgin hair.

I would like to change my hair without bleaching it. Which color do you think would go over this nicely? It’s bright red, more pink than orange.

I absolutely love dark purple/violet on me, but the dye always bleeds for several washes, is it a product issue? Am I doing something wrong? This is the brand I use, I wash and rinse with cold water, but even so, I’ve still found some bleeding on towels, and in worst cases on my white clothes :(
(Just to mention the brand is very cheap, maybe not as common elsewhere but in MX it’s around 3usd per tube)

Update! I went for it and used ColorZap on my 2+ year-old black box dye and this is the before vs. after. I honestly cannot believe how much of the black came out. It lifted basically all of the old black to a really warm copper/orange, with some darker/redder areas throughout.

What I really wasn’t expecting was for it to lighten my natural hair too. The instructions specifically say “Natural hair cannot be lightened with ColorZap” and tell you not to apply it to new growth. I tried to avoid my natural hair, but with how much growth I had and doing it myself, I accidentally overlapped onto quite a bit of it. It definitely lightened it and some of my natural red/auburn (idk my exact hair colour lol) turned noticeably lighter/golden.

Now I’m trying to decide what to do next. I originally bought age beautiful 8RC, but after seeing how much it lifted, part of me actually likes the copper and wonders if I should just leave it alone for now incase the dye comes out really red instead of closer to my natural colour. It’s definitely uneven and very warm, but my biggest goal was getting rid of the black without having to cut off all the length I’ve spent two years growing. I want to eventually get my money pieces and highlights back in my hair.

Yesterday I got the underside of my hair bleached and dyed pink for the first time. Hair doesn’t feel damaged at all or anything. I get keratin treatments every 6 months ish and need to get one before I leave the country on the 10th. Do I have time? How many days should I wait?

Hey I’m not super knowledgable on hair so I thought I would ask here. 

I got my hair bleached and dyed pink about 2 months ago. The bleach wasn’t completely even and my hair still had some browner streaks but they were pretty much all covered by the pink. The pink has washed out now and now my hair is this yellowish blonde which I don’t hate except for the fact that there are random brown streaks in it. I want to redye my hair to a lighter pink so I was wondering if I can bleach my hair again to get rid of the darker spots so it doesn’t show up in the pink. Can I do this? What bleach would be best? Thanks :)

i was a bleach blonde for a bit and have done every color under the sun EXCEPT for a lot of colors all at once. it didn’t turn out perfect but i’m kinda obsessed with it regardless !!

it’s my first time trying demi-permanent dye on a wig! i originally ordered this hair in a chocolatey-ginger sort of color. which was great, but then i wanted to change it up and go darker. however, i’m still very much loving avoiding plain 1b hair. so, i bought the dye pictured below from the supermarket, and i love the way my hair looks! i am by no means a professional, so there are probably mistakes 🤣 i think my mistakes look cool though, because it just looks dimensional. but anyway, my wig took the dye like a champ, and it’s still so glossy and thick. the best part? because i used semi-permanant, my hair will get lighter as i wash, and then i can choose what shade of brown [or ginger!] i want to play with next.  i definitely will be using demi-permanent dye from now on. 

Im a guy with very curly hair, and I have a little length. I know I need specific shampoo, maybe a hair mask, maybe specific conditioner, I kept seeing k18 pop up, but I’m not sure on the specifics. I know it’s different for most people, but I could use recommendations

my whole life I’ve lived in a very dry and cold climate (Northern California mountains) and my hair is somewhat thin and wavy. Over the past four years or so I’ve styled my hair to pull out its waves and shape my bangs by adding a little water to it in the morning and I shape it with my hands and let the waves sit for an hour and then fluff it all up to get a fluffy and wavy texture. I use kitsch bar conditioner and shampoo as my only products really.

in a few days I’m moving to Seattle where it’s more humid than I’m used to, and the few times I’ve visited humid places like Seattle and Wisconsin, I’ve always had the hardest time styling my hair, and it always ends up flat and my water styling technique hardly works.

Does anyone have some recommendations for hair products to keep my hair dry, wavy, and fluffy in a humid area like Seattle?

I'm looking for recommendations on shampoos for maintaining vibrant color! I'm struggling to find a shampoo that both maintains my cherry berry color and also gets it clean 🥲

Some info about me and my hair:

- I have fine, wavy hair, but a decent amount of it.

- It gets frizzy easily and struggles to stay straight if there is any humidity now a days lol - the ends end up fraying apart/look stringy when this happens too. It also gets greasy the day after washing (basically as soon as i sleep on it), so I have to use dry shampoo between washes.

- Was using Nioxin 3 shampoo, but figure that doesnt help with fading since it has sulfates... i started using Color Wow's Color Security shampoo, but i dont always feel like it is actually getting my hair/scalp clean and I end up with flat hair at the crown. Lately, I mix the 2 shampoos together.

- It seems like I lose the cool tones from the color the quickest - probs within 3-4 washes - and then it becomes more red than berry. I'm guessing this is also partially becuase i started last fall as a brownish red color, then went more auburn, then kept adding more red and eventually pinks (purples didnt work) each time as I got more confident with it. Was using Pulp Riot, but that seemed to fade super fast, so I switched to Manic Panic this summer.

- At this point, my stylist puts a red permanent dye on my roots and such every 6-8 weeks, and then we put Manic Panic's Fuscia Shock and Vampire Red (75/25 mix) on top of that. I do the MP myself between visits as needed as well.

- I'm sure blow drying and straightening it for the first 2-3 washes and days in between doesnt help either... but Manic Panic bleeds SO bad that I essentially HAVE to. (Also, i do on super muggy days cuz my hair is a disaster otherwise LOL)

TLDR; Looking for shampoo recommendations that will get my fine, wavy hair clean since it gets greasy as soon as I sleep on it, but also wont totally fade my color super fast!

So, recently I've been trying to find a site where I can reliably buy hair dye, and I saw that some brands sell things on Amazon. They even have a whole fancy looking page, so it looked legit to me, but I wanted to ask about it on here just in case.

I live in eastern europe and a lot of sites either don't ship to Europe, or have ridiculous shipping prices. Then there's the other issue I ran into last time I tried ordering hair dye. Dealing with the post office. I just can't deal with getting a single random phone call from an unknown number, and when I fail to pick up, being left wondering what in the world happened to my package.

I am *extremely* shy, it's like, a huge problem I have, so I can't deal with getting random unexpected phone calls.

With regular couriers, you get a message about the day it's going to arrive, so you know to expect the call, it's so much less crappy.

I also checked a couple of sites from my country, but their selection was limited and one of them had google translated the product description, which is hilarious, but it made it look so shady LMAO

TL;DR I need a site where I can reliably order hair dye without having to deal with the post office or ridiculous shipping prices. Or having to worry about whether they ship to my country. Is Amazon a good enough choice?

Im beginner when it comes to bleaching/colouring hair and I’m a bit confused about the difference between toner and permanent hair dye.

I’ve managed to get my hair to a level 9 (very light blonde), and my goal is a platinum/very cool blonde. At this point I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to use next.

From what I understand, toner is supposed to remove the yellow/brassy tones, while dye actually changes the hair colour more permanently?? my question is and I’m still confused about when you would choose one over the other? wouldn't it be better to just dye it to plat permanently?

Hi all. I have brown hair and got balayage a few months ago so it’s grown out a bit. I really want to try the Kristin Ess copper penny gloss but I am worried it will come out patchy because of the blonde in my hair. I have never done a gloss before. Any advice?

I’ve been growing out black box dye for about two years now and I’m honestly getting so tired of waiting for it to completely grow out. I really don’t want to cut off all the length I’ve managed to grow either.

The black hasn’t been touched in about two years, so everything you can see growing in is my natural colour and the darker lengths are the old black and red dye. It has definitely faded quite a bit.

I have L’Oréal ColorZap and I’m wondering if anyone has used it on really old black box dye like this? I know black is notoriously difficult to remove, but since mine hasn’t been dyed in two years, would I have a decent chance of getting enough of it out to re dye with AGEbeautiful 8RC Strawberry Blonde? I am trying to get my hair all one colour and wanted to use a gloss but couldn’t find a gloss my colour. I’m scared of the dye turning out really red instead of my natural colour as well.

Any tips or recommendations?

Does anyone mix toners? I wanted to try something a little different this time after I bleach my roots.

Last time I did it my hair pulled some gray / blue that I was digging but once I washed my hair it was gone. I used just Blondme Toner last time.

I was going to try Ion Creme Toner in Snow Cap this time and possibly Ion Creme Toner in lavendar moon.

What ya'll think? Just stick with the snow cap? If you do mix them what's the ratio? I have really good bleach now so my roots always lift white and fast. The rest I'm working on trimming so it all evens out. It doesn't really bother me though, been doing my own hair for years. Moral of the story - I'm not looking for salon perfect results. Thanks so much!!
