After beating a Bronze Krauser with my Bronze Tizoc, The Krauser completely went into turtle and Blitzball spam mode.

Eventually i lost the next 2 sets not knowing how to approach him, kept getting hit/hit in the air/pushed back.

Lab-ed it out and discovered High Blitzballs can be ducked under without blocking... and Krauser's been out since 24 Apr.🤦‍♂️

Oh well, i hope everyone else don't need to make the same mistake i made.

It happened many times that I triggered a backdash and get hit while rev guarding cross ups because I instinctively added a back input as the direction changed.

There is no configuration to change that behaviour right?

We need more archetypes. Hopefully the Jin bros are two-characters-at-the-same-time or puppet style, and Laocorn has a billion projectiles, even more than Kain. Alfred will have air movement.

But we could still use a big, slow, lumbering "tank" type, with lots of armor moves, guard-point on normals, etc. Maybe Krauser is as far as they'll go, but I was hoping for slower, with even more armor-like moves and without any fireballs.

Just got Master with Terry in SF6, who is also my main in COTW. Really haven't played COTW since Krauser, so I figured I'd jump on.

Anyway, overall I have way more time on SF6 including getting Terry to Master last week, but I have way more time on Terry in COTW. However, for some reason I just brain farted in a situation and went to an SF6 strat.

Anyway, I tried to throw the Joe who jumped to avoid it, and upon his attack, I pressed Back+Square+X to try to Perfect Parry the jump in. Which are the same buttons as throw on COTW for me, but are my mediums on SF.

On the other hand when I started Terry in SF6, my muscle memory was COTW, so that was also interesting.

With the return of Duck King, Mai Shiranui got a costume based on the Fatal Fury movie. Do you think she would get her classic kunoichi red outfit in the future?

I come from sf6 and made my way fairly well into this game, im ~9000 pts

I main Joe and Ken at the moment will probably learn other characters too.

I think im a decent player considering i never played FF in my life.

Im excellent at whiff punishing because of sf6

I use footsies, shimmies, empty jump lows and all that good stuff.
I use FF COTW mecanics too but mainly i can only use smalls jumps for safe jumps or empty lows so far. I have sometimes success when im using it.

BUT

Everytime i lose in this game i notice i get opened by SMALL JUMPS spams. (DUCK KING)

I do dp they just defend and punish me, i do nothing i get empty low or thrown.

whats the best way to deal with this shit?

Also i would like to know how to use small jumps in my offense?

This games on sale rn so I decided to get it. I was like okay I’ll boot it up, learn some basic stuff and then head online. I’ll most likely get destroyed but that’s alright cause rn I just wanna get comfortable with it first before I can even think of winning.

So I went into training mode, picked a character and started messing around with the mechanics and that is when I realised I have no fucking idea what I’m doing. I play multiple FGs so I am not a total newbie to the genre, so I thought learning the basic stuff couldnt be that hard right but I just couldn’t.

At that point it was clear I needed to do the tutorial so I started doing that and by the end I was exhausted. Like what the actual fuck was that? I play Tekken 8 and Blazblue Centralfiction and somehow I wasnt nearly as exhausted by them as I was with this game. Where to even begin? I literally did the tutorial like an hour ago and I’ve legit forgotten most of it.

I haven’t even played a single match yet i already feel exhausted by this game. I had heard SNK games are notoriously difficult, but i didnt think it would be this much.

Or similiar?

Am thinking of getting COTW and have been reading about the differences between arcade and smart style but seems most stuff can be performed using modern/smart. Is there like some sort of damage reduction or something?

Like tizoc's inputs are much easier as an example when reading online with smart.

Now that Duck King has joined Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves: I've done a special Color Edit series for him. Based on Grace Ashcroft in RE: Requiem with Angela Sant'albano's hair and eye colors.

For many characters such as Terry, Andy, Jubei or Cheng, there are moves which require you to hold the down direction joystick for some time.

How does the CPU AI perform these moves instantly? Is there a way we can perform it too in an emulator like WinKawaks?

Im relatively new in the fgc, my last mains were ryu(sf6), yun and alex (3rd strike) and faust (ggst). Bonus points if its not a super complex char!

SF6 gives him stubble, but Garou has him with a full on beard, it looks so weird

It shouldn’t even be blond, Ken’s natural hair colour is black, did he really dye the beard?

Apparently Duck King has a Hype Meter? It is very poorly explained and that is annoying.

The video says there are two levels and that's pretty much it. How do we know when we've reached the 2nd level? What, more specifically, does it do? Which moves are impacted, etc?

Anyone else experiencing sound effects being extremely out of sync since the last update? I'll punch and the sound only comes up more than a second later. Very aggravating.
