How does party member AI work

Playing the cursed king (og not reawakened) and I'm wondering what each of the AI settings mean in a practical sense. Also is there any way to force them to cast a spell. Feeling a bit frustrated that even with the whole squad down to 20% health my magic specialist refuses to hit us with a group heal.

Red is auto aggro, blue is no aggro only heal and casting, yellow is aggro when attacked also can use charm heal for you and other allies.

Though allies suck a lot when you turn mid game since they have reduced damage, and spell casting. I also notice charm healing stop working at the last dungeon in TCK. So yeh they are better as being a meat shield.
