Rant Wallets/Cases

I've been trying to make writing a habit, and I love STUFF. I LOVE Field Notes wallets and have several. However, I found that putting my Field Notes in a wallet caused me to write a lot less. I really need to just have the bare Field Notes in my pocket with a pen in order for me to actually use it.

Anyone else have the same issue?

I have the opposite problem. I absolutely require a cover for mine to be functional, and I have way too many. I also carry mine in a bag instead of a pocket.

Yeah I'd like to be a case guy, but I am never going to carry a bag everywhere. That's the problem

I think it makes total sense. There’s more friction to using it, and I enjoy writing in it less when it’s in a case.

I got a leather wallet for mine, and nowadays the only time I use it is when throwing my Field Notes in a bag for extended transport. If it’s just in my pocket or on my desk I’m usually rocking it naked. You should own it. It’s a satisfying feeling to finish the notebook and see the wear and tear patina.

The cases make the notebooks too big and uncomfortable to keep in my front pocket. I actually use them more when I can effortlessly carry them and I'm not too precious

I use a leather sheath. Very thin leather but it protects the notebook.
