Awkward phase… forever?

I decided to grow out my hair back in June and this is where I’m at. Every time I feel like I’m in the “awkward phase” it gets more and more awkward lol. I don’t think I’m cut out for the flow.

Yeah. Just keep it trimmed for some shape and let it grow.

You are not used to it yet. And that's not awkward, you wish lol

What part of that is awkward? Every shot looks good.

You’ll get to the awkward part soon.

Nah, this looks great. The awkward stage is that bulky, unintentional, mullet-like look, you'll know it when it arrives lol.

You’re doing the most brutal transition, you’re been used to point blank fades. This takes time to grow back and overall makes the process seem like forever but believe me it will be worth it, and at some point the length will catch up to be noticeably different

You’ll go through various stages of frustration and you’ll have to improvise ways to sort your hair from day to day but you have to keep going no matter what, it’ll pay off !

You are still like 4 months out from the awkward phase starting

Awkward phase where?
Also, invest in some hats to help get you through the actual awkward phase(s)

This is awkward? You should see what Im going through right now and you’ll instantly feel better but I don’t feel like making a fool out of myself on Reddit today.

It looks good. You’re just used to a skin fade. Keep going

Darling this is far from the awkward phase. You just have to leave your hair for around a year and don't think much of it while it grows, be patient

For me its just short hair. You didnt even made through enough time to reach an actual awkward phase. Make sure to use leave in and combing creams to tame it.

You're rocking it! Looks like you're adapting to the growing phases well.

Its gonna get awkward in November it’s like from month 5-10 because it’s in between short and long. Slick it back once it’s long enough and keep it gelled.

The curls are gonna make it poofy like an Afro type before the weight of the curls make it fall down.

That will come in a couple months it's hard but stick to it

You ain’t even near awkward yet! Wait until about 6 to 8 months in. I’m going on 1.5 years and it’s still not long enough to put it all up.

Awkward phase is when it passes the ears, is too short to put up, too long too slick back and such. Think Dora the Explorer.

Nah you gotta let your hair grow out trust. This ain't the awkward stage, you'll know when you get there

Is the awkward in the room with us?

If you think that's the awkward phase, you're not going to make it there.

Ha! You’te hot. Not even close to awkward phase. Let it go Lord Farqquad and then tie it, and after a couple months should be good.

Its like minimum 2 years of growth before you really get an idea of what having long hair is like.

You haven't even nearly reached the awkward stage mate. You'll know.

It's all in your mind bro, honestly. You're just used to seeing yourself with a skin fade. I had the same thoughts when I was first growing out my hair - looking back on those same photos it didn't look awkward at all

Maybe fade with an etch on the side or a highlight somewhere to make you feel better as it grows
