Terra should have an Espurr because it's too good to pass up.
Squall DOESN'T get a lion when they're his whole thing? I can see him with a Luxray.

Espurr is also kinda short, fluffy and round like a moogle, so wordplay aside… I think the appearance fits, too.

Not sure if I see Clive as a Mexican wrestler. They got the fire theme in common, but that’s pretty much it.

I don't have concrete reasoning, but feel like Bartz/ swablu line would be a good pair. They're bird like for boko and incorporate clouds for the wind element. Also overcoming his fear of heights if I had to stretch?
For Cecil... Tough to say, maybe silvally? They both share a semi plot thread of "growing" by removing their masks and understanding themselves/who they were.
