As a kid, I always called them 's/he' (pronounced shuh-hee)

In some versions, like French, Italian or Spanish, she's a She. I think in German she's a he, and s/he on the English one. It came quite naturally when they speak of her in my game. It wasn't so obvious when they say he about Kuja

Weird ? I'm currently playing the french version and could've sworn they alternate between he and she. Some characters call them he, while others call them she

I know firsthand because of the Spanish version which is the first I played. I read about it not long ago in the wiki, it may be wrong. Also it seems that Quina's boss also change gender in different versions (Quale, I think)

As a kid, I counted Quina as a girl because it made an even number of four boys and four girls in the final party.

No, it doesn't work. But Quina can equip the Lamia Tiara, an otherwise female exclusive accessory. Which implies, regardless of Quina's Gender, Zidane doesn't consider Quina a "girl", and Quina likes Tieras.

I'm my last playthrough, which was my first playthrough, when I got to the area with all of the Zidane clones, I thought "oh, his people! ....wait, why are they all girls?" And then found out they were his clones.
