My graph’s battery died so I had to fish blindly today. I still hooked into about 8 fish including a 16 inch LMB off the dropshot while missing two big fish with a neko.

Today was a good reminder that our eyes, visible cover and a mental map of the waters we fish can still translate into a good day.

Alright folks - I know it's uncool to give up your spots. But take pity on me. I get Friday off work and the kids will be in daycare, so I can get out fishing for just the third time this year. I want to launch my boat into the Sound where I'll have my best odds of getting a Coho or two that I can take home for dinner.

Where would you go?

Just got a rod for my birthday. Used to fish all the time and now looking to get back into it.

Just looking for a good bait shop or person who sells bait.

Any recommendations?

I've fished the sound the last 3 days. It's been very good for coho and crab. I've been avoiding the big crowds and super popular spots by fishing other points, current rips, and chasing birds. One of the bigger fish I got was in 650’ of water at 70’ down. Get out there if you can, a lot of fish around locally. I’ve enjoyed taking friends, wife, my kids, and their friends out while the bite is good.

I plan on going to Westport for the first time this weekend, and I’m planning on fishing off of the jetty. What should I be targeting and what should I use to catch them? I’ve heard a lot about surfperch and black rockfish. Also, are there any tricks to fishing the jetty?

Hey y'all, my uncle is visiting me in Seattle 9/12 and is really interested in squid fishing in the sound. Reading around it seems like they show up in Elliot Bay later in the winter but more soon up north, any clue when to expect them off Edmonds or anywhere relatively close we could go mid September? Thanks!

We're house sitting for a month on outer Quartermaster Harbor (area 11). There's a dock and my kids are dying to go fishing.

What species should we target? I was thinking sand dabs are most likely. It's obviously not very deep - 20-30'? We could also rent kayaks and go out over deeper water (I think it's 90' at the deepest there).

I just got the kids and I saltwater licenses and we have some basic rods (they fished trout at the Sportsman's Club previously).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My fiancé is huge into fly fishing and I’m looking for some rivers that we camp at and he can fly fish near. We are looking at Money Creek campground, clear creek, gold basin and verlot. Does anyone know anything about the fishing in those areas?

Started fishing at 7am and within a few minutes a guy next to me hooked up on a coho. Then about an hour later another hook up bout 50 yards from me. Besides that I was there for 2 ish hours and no other action. No visible schools of bait. No bites for me.

I was discouraged 2 hours in with no bites after a 10 am start. I thought the midday sun was gong to skunk me but I kept grinding, searching, probing for any hints of active bass. Finally, in 25 feet of hard bottom water, a parade of bait fish urged me to slow down. Threw an elaztech fluke on a dropshot and bam. I found a bass buffet to salvage the day!

Don’t drop believing! There’s always bass biting somewhere!

Hello, I’m mid thirties dude, and have done some fly fishing, grew up fishing with gear. Now I want to chase salmon and steelhead on the fly. Looking for people to go with. I’m looking to get a raft but would be great to have someone to shuttle with/ fish with if anyone is open to meeting someone new.

My friend and I are new to fishing and are planning a day trip from Seattle. For context we have 2 7 foot medium reels. We primarily use night crawlers but we have some grubs and power bait (and can get other stuff if needed). We’ve had some success catching perch and pumpkin seed fish in Lake Washington.

We’re looking to wake up early, drive up to 1.5 hours, some mild hiking, and do some casting. Was wondering if anyone here has recommendations?

Some spots we’ve come across in our research:
1. Twin Falls/Olallie State Park/north fork snoqualmie
This would be our first time fishing from a stream/river. I’m not sure what access looks like, seems like there are some good spots but looks like it’s super shallow too.
2. Rattlesnake Lake
No pier access, pictures looks like shallow shore access. Please let me know if my expectations are wrong, but we have not had success fishing from shallow shore access.
3. Edmonds Pier
We were hoping for something more adventurous but if this is the spot this is the spot.

Please let me know if you feel like I’m optimizing for the wrong things. Any advice is welcome!

Coho all around me

Got my 2 from the jetty today. Shout out rando Cole for the net job on the second one- with the tiny net!

Big boy was 10lbs - on anchovy today.

Second was on pink size 4 fox, followed all the way to my feet, ran left, cast again left and ripped it back and BAM. Wish I had a GoPro for that one

Not going to name spots, but it was epic coho action from shore today in an area of Area 9. I haven't seen fishing like this for maybe 30+ years for coho. Got a 10 lber today (and a 3lber lol), just fat like a football and a bit of hooknose starting. There's going to be some 16+ lb coho caught this year for sure. Saw a few jump right in front of me (5-10 feet) that were in the 12lb range.

I think that crazy rain today had something to do with something, cause man, the difference from one day to the next...

It was like every coho on the planet was concentrated in the water today. :)

Visited the Edmonds pier today for the first time. Tried a 3L buzz bomb but no luck. Saw some kids catching and releasing rock fish with raw chicken bait. Will try again another time. Appreciate suggestions on lures etc

Heading up to the skagit to try and catch a bull trout tomorrow went and bought some streamers today off of the advice of the guy at the fly shop. I’m new to this kind of fishing so any tips would be appreciated thanks.

Area 10 yesterday.

This must be that massive locust horde of coho we were getting into from shore a while ago at the mouth of the Hood Canal. It was total madness and chaos of kamikaze torpedo coho feeding frenzy in knee deep water. They would sometimes storm the shore in massive schools and hit me in the legs at full speed flying through thick clouds of bait.

This beauty was the last of the 3.
