Not a perfect tie but doubt the fish will mind! Nice and quick fly after a break from the vice

Really liking the look of these. I know there normally tied with mono and dumbell eyes, but i only have beads as of rightnow. I tied these on a 2x long #8 streamer hook. One was made with a tungsten bead, the other a normal bead with .15 lead wire wraps.

The first one I tied and fished was on a 4x long #6, and the fish would approach it, stare, then swim off. That made me think it may have bin to big of a fly for them to eat, so im trying a downsized version to see if this will get them to take.

Elk hair + CDC caddis is the very first dry I tied and tried on the water. I love the pattern and I think it will always remain in my box, mainly because it combines my two favorite ways of fishing: drifting at surface as a dry and swinging in the current as a wet fly.

So I wonder, what other dry flies work on a swing? Much appreciated!

I am very capable of tying whatever is needed but I need boots on the ground recommendations. I have fished the river over 2 days about ten years ago and had a few hook ups but never landed anything and I don’t even remember what I was fishing. Would love to know some dries or nymphs that consistently pick up fish out there.

I placed an order on Aug 20 and while they have been somewhat communicating via email / claiming they were out of office, I am strongly considering disputing the charge and ordering from elsewhere. I am going to tie others, purple/pink, black/grey, there are many color options. Any suggestions on color combo you would use?

I want/need some nice grizzly feathers for my dries. Which one would you choose? I'm a bit confused between cape, saddle, midge... In the online shops descriptions they all sound very similar, they all mention they have feathers for very small dries like size 20 or smaller.

I'm also not sure what range size feathers I'll end up needing as I haven't done a lot of dry fly fishing yet (mostly some caddis and terrestrials). I know I'd like to tie adams, quill gordon, griffith gnat and try out other popular dry fly patterns. For larger mayflies, I already kind of have the materials - golden olive grizzly & olive grizzly ewing (a small piece of skin, I don't think it's either saddle or cape, it wasn't very expensive either). The fibers on the smallest feathers there aren't that small too, maybe good for size 16-14)

I have always been wanting to get into videoing fly tying and figuring out how to create content that people want to tie alongside. I personally love longer form videos that are a little more chill and feel like we are tying flies together instead of instructing on how to tie a certain fly.

Krebs 5/8" predator popper on a big old hook. Spent about two years working on this with Gary back in 2015. Still have bags of the off-cuts that didn't sound or fish just right.

Found bags of the og CCG eyes from way back in the bottom of a drawer full of sticky eyes. Makes me wish that dude was still around because the product was good.

Hoping for another few months of surface action before it's time to fish sub and be sad.

We hammers fish with this thing as a dropper today. Whays it called..any YouTube tutorials on tying it? Seems straight forward, but i like instructions for first couple times tying something.
