Gritty 5K

Is anyone else running/walking in this?

I’m so excited!!! Just selected my preseason and home game comp tickets and I’m buzzing y’all. It’s gonna be a good year.

If anyone wants to grab a drink after the race lmk and we can go to Stateside Live or something.

This will be my third year doing it! The shame is I have a hockey game to play in that night so I won’t be able to do much after besides race home and get a nap while Penn State is killing Wisconsin

I’m proud of you for doing it when you have a whole hockey game to play in later that day- that’s insane and I hope you’ve still got the energy to expend after it’s over.

I’m walking the 5k and it’s beer league and I’m goalie so not that stressful

I will be walking with my family! We enjoy doing it for the ticket incentives (and the shirt last year was awesome). My daughter and I will definitely have our orange tutus.

The runners are very serious, tutus and face paint notwithstanding. Walkers are more relaxed and will stop at the silly dance-and-sing stations along the way, course time be damned. Gritty rides around shooting silly string and throwing cakes. A grand time is had by all!

I do interval running usually, so I’ll get a mix of both approaches! I’m mainly there to have fun but I do want to keep my 5k time under 30 minutes like it normally is. My best time has never been lower than 22 minutes, but unless I’m being chased by Gritty himself I doubt I’ll achieve that.

Signed up literally the day we moved to Philly, I'm so pumped! Never ran a 5k before so I'm interval training, but mostly so excited to get to go to our first Flyers games :))
