Absolutely love the car so far, not totally new but new to me. '2023 big bend sasquatch package with 14k miles. Absolutely crazy about the car so far and I love finding all the new little details. I will say the 2.7 uses a lot more gas than I thought lol.

By the way, anyone have an issue with the sunglass holder not wanting to click closed? Only gripe with the car so far.

Just picked up my wife's new car a few weeks ago, and we are both really happy with the heritage edition. Im curious what kind of maintenance you guys have had in the first 60,000 miles?

Question ❔ Am I the only one who does not like the black appearance package wheels?

Post image
28 Upvotes

I’m looking at a marsh gray outer banks with a painted black hard top. I think the black appearance package looks good, especially with the black fenders and mirrors, but I am not a fan of these wheels. I already plan on putting on larger tires (33s since I won’t be off roading but like the bigger tire look), but new tires AND wheels will start to get expensive. Any ideas how to best tackle this?

An unexpected loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer Ford Motor Company

Components ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Potential Number of Units Affected: 10001

Summary

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2026 Explorer, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Mustang, and Ranger vehicles. The engine piston domes may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in piston dome failure and lead to a loss of drive power.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect the engine pistons and replace the engine long block, if necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 4, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in December 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S61. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 28, 2026.

Question ❔ New to Broncos

Not new to Fords, just Broncos. Can someone explain to a newbie why the Raptor trim level can be as much as $40,000 more than other trim levels? For someone who will never go off-roading is it worth the extra $$$$?

Question ❔ Soft top windows help

I just bought a new badlands and it came with a hard and soft top. When I changed to the soft top, I can’t get the windows to attach. I took it to the dealer and after a very long visit with many people trying it was determined that I needed new moldings on the side. They sent new ones and they seem to be the exact same thing. I can’t get the front part of the window closest to the door to connect.

I know I can’t describe this well but the plastic piece on the window is bent (should it be??) At an angle and won’t snap into the molding. Please help!

I keep hoping I run into someone in a parking lot that has one that can help… but if anyone is near Hartford CT and would meet me I’d be forever grateful!

Question ❔ Bronco Offroadeo

New Bronco owner so please don’t roast me.

Trying to understand if this is additional cost or not before going through the booking process.

I understand that there are fees for guests but can be free if booked early.

Is accommodation covered or something that’s done separately? And is this typically an all day event or multiple days? Have you gone with your significant other and how was it?

Just looking for insight before actually doing through the process. Thanks!

Question ❔ Used soft top

Any advice if I were to buy a soft top 3-5 years old? Also how gnarly is maintenance on one with 30000 to 60000 miles on it?

Question ❔ 33 inch factory Badlands rugged terrain tires versus 32 inch OBX all terrain tires

Does anyone have first hand experience comparing these two tires (2026 model)? I want to get the OBX and put on 33 inch tires (with 17 inch wheels). I don’t want to sacrifice ride quality and noise. I figured that it may be easier to find the factory badlands tires to put on, but I’m not sure if the rugged terrain tires will be good on a daily driver. I can get different tires and wheels but that will likely be more expensive. Thoughts?

Question ❔ For people 26 Badlands non Sas

What tires did your badlands come with I recently ordered a 2door badlands and been looking at reviews and photos and I'm seeing some with the expected BFG K02 but I'm seeing a lot with the Goodyear territory, I'd really prefer the K02 due to winter certification and living in Canada.

Question ❔ Bumper Fabrication

Has anyone had a custom bumper made? I’m not really loving any of the winch bumpers currently available. What I really want is a bumper that looks like the OEM HD Modular bumper but supports a winch inside the bumper - not bolted to the top.

Does anyone know what a bumper like this would cost to make?

Question ❔ Where to list for sale Broncos?

Howdy all,

I don’t see any rules or tags here about for sale vehicles, and expect that’s on purpose. Where then might you point me if I’m needing to sell? Elsewhere on Reddit? I’m not on Facebook, and was hoping to avoid that site.

Cheers and thanks!

I am considering buying a dealer reacquired Bronco. Should any of the information in this vehicle report be a major red flag? Was the transmission actually reworked?
What would you estimate the price range on a Rav Bronco like this ?

Mods/Addons 🔦 Built a(nother) 2dr platform

After my first attempt, I remembered seeing the accordion style platforms and decided to go ahead & upgrade- and I love this design soooo much better. No rubber mats, no loose carpet pieces.. feels almost like it should’ve come this way.

I used the existing platform I had cut as one of the sections and added the others, but also cut new support beams at 5” tall so the platform would sit level on the seat backs.

One thing I realized is that in order to fold up a design like this, the panels cannot be the full 42.5” wide because there’s a little bump out in the interior plastics that is difficult to clear when folding. (The other option to avoid this, as others have done, is to make the middle section shallower and the forward section longer so they both clear. You can see the differences in the linked examples..)

I considered this a happy accident though because instead of fully folding up, it formed a little trunk area instead… it’s not completely sealed off, or secure, but it does block 90% visibility of whatever you’d have back there with the window closed. That plus my tint and I think it’s pretty sweet- and looks clutch! (It definitely would not block view or secure the trunk area with the top off.. )

The other thing I did was the split design because hauling gear + a passenger in the back is a fairly common thing for me. I had seen this idea in the drawings from another post, but he didn’t end up doing it.. so I did!

I made it a bit shallower in hopes to clear the tailgate latch bump-out and not have to notch the left side of the platform- which worked but is very tight clearance.. I have to shove it forward each time to make sure the tailgate will close. So I might go back and notch that corner after all.

Nevertheless I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and thought I’d share!

If you hang around here, you'll probably like the Discord too. It’s a laid-back place to talk all things Bronco—from the 6th gen and Bronco Sport to classics, mods, off-roading, and general Ford chat.

It's not a high-volume server; just a good mix of owners and fans swapping tips, showing off builds, and helping each other out.

Question ❔ 2022 droptop manual badlands questions

Im trying to buy a Bronco thats 2024 or older because i like buttons and it needs to be in green for my business, I found a 2022 as the title states but its got 60k miles on it going for 35k which kinda seems cheap but i dont really know, can anyone give me their experiences with that year, google says 2022 was a bad year for recalls but they dont seem to apply to the manual drop top. Other concerns are hows the rag top with the noise with the off road tires and in the winter. Pretty much looking for any kind of information as i search for my forever bronco. Not tied to anything specific except it needs to be eruption green.
