Buying Advice Ford explorer
So you know how moms do that hack where they remove one seat in a minivan and add a rug so they have floor space and can get to all seats.....
Has anyone ever done this in a Ford explorer?
The ones where the middle row is only two seats with a walkway?

I have a 2013 that is a captains seat second row model and the center console between the seats was an option. Mine didn’t have it installed and that made an easy pass through to the third row. I hardly use the third row so I bought the middle row center console and installed it. It’s held in by like 4 or 6 bolts so it would be easy to remove.

I removed the drivers side, middle row captains chair in my 2025 ST, it was 4 bolts and a couple wiring harnesses.
My third row no longer lowers, there is an airbag warning light, and an airbag fault warning on start up. But my (aging) dog can get in so much easier.
The warnings should go away once I order the right wiring harnesses.
Eventually I’ll be building a low platform mounted using the same bolt holes the seat used.

I did this in a 2 door. Removed the front passenger seat. Worked great. If I was using the third row consistently, I would think about it removing one of my end bench seats.

Yes. I removed the middle bench seats in my ‘24 ST.
You can disable the seatbelt warnings through ForScab.

Not sure if anyone has done it, but it wouldn't be hard to remove a seat if you have captains chairs.
