Looking for experiences/advice — 8.5-week-old on Alimentum RTF for almost 4 weeks.
Feeding has improved a lot — she no longer cries during bottles and seems comfortable eating. Doesn’t cry anymore when being burped either.
However, we’re still dealing with:
• Delayed/trapped burps and regurgitating formula sometimes 1–2+ hours after eating and even while sleeping. She goes “eh eh eh” and fusses a lot when it happens and then her nap gets disrupted
• Wet/gurgly/raspy throat sounds, especially after feeds or lying flat (I think this is reflux). She sounds extra mucousy around 4-7 am. Also sneezes a lot
• Seems much more comfortable sleeping upright/on us than flat
• Stool initially improved on Alimentum but then the other day she had a yellow/slimy/mucousy one. Not sure if it was from extra saliva?
• Intermittent facial rash/eczema (not sure if this is baby acne or contact irritation from her face laying against me during contact naps in the carrier)
Has anyone had a baby whose feeding improved on Alimentum but these other symptoms didn’t? Did you stay on Alimentum and wait for maturity, try an amino-acid formula, or end up treating reflux? I’m especially curious whether the delayed/wet burps and disrupted sleep eventually improved with age/formula change.
