Opinion The game is unplayable right now

I've played 2 br cups this season and both were a complete disaster. The state of the servers is abysmal. Feels like i'm playing on 60+ ping and the desync is apparent. The build bug too. Yesterday me or my teammate died to the build bug at least 4-5 times. (Not being able to do anything in endgame kinda sucks) Last week me and my teammate missed out on div1 qual because of dying early in an endgame because of a bugged invisible wall that bugged my camera out when someone landed in my box. This week i died to a floor randomly dissapearing beneath my feet, landing in a duo's box. Replayed that in clips 5 times, the floor just dissapeared without explanation. About time epic locked in and started fixing what matters

Discussion Zero Build League or separate FNCS Division

So I wanna know what y'all think about this how would we feel about either a separate FNCS division for Zero Build in Fortnite? I'm not talking like it becomes the main focus of FNCS as I understand it will probably always remain as Build but I mean like a separate tournament series that takes place at a separate time of the year. I feel like that'll be pretty cool and it would help Zero Build a lot in the long run. Because I feel like the issue with people not wanting to play ZB ranked is because it doesn't lead to anything big when you play normal ranked that is a pathway to FNCS which is a $10 million tournament so of course people are going to play normal ranked so they can see if they can get to that level and I just feel like if Zero Build had something similar to that it would help the ZB competitive scene as a whole because let's face it these little tournaments that we can do just aren't cutting it anymore. I mean the cash cups are fine and all but the ranked cups which I assume are supposed to be bigger only give you cosmetics as rewards which I'm pretty sure no one really cares about in the grand scheme of things so I think that we need bigger tournaments with bigger cash prizes for zero build, and that will give people the incentive to play ranked more because that'll give them something to work towards because who doesn't like money, but yeah, let me know what y'all think about this. It's just something I've been thinking about for a while

Opinion This game ranks you up way faster than it should

Post image
30 Upvotes

There is no reason after 35 games that I should be at the max rank in the game barring the top 500 rank, which is still basically the same rank at the end of the day.

I'd be interested to know what you guys think about this, because I think it's pretty lame that after only one week of this season being out having barely played the mode, I've already hit max rank, IMO it should take at least 3/4 times longer than this bare minimum.

Hardware and Settings Question about 1080p vs 1440p for Fortnite competitive

I was thinking of getting an oled monitor at 240hz. My current setup is 3070, 7800x3d and 32 gigs of ddr5. Would I be getting fps drops because the oled runs native at 1440p and I have a somewhat outdated gpu.

Discussion How do you actually make improvement translate into consistent performance?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately and I’m curious how other competitive players approach improvement.

I’ve played Fortnite on and off for around 7 years and have always tried to improve. During Chapter 5, I seriously committed to competitive Fortnite for several months. I was doing mechanics maps, scrimming, VOD reviewing, 1v1s/2v2s against good players, and actively working on weaknesses. Eventually I got burnt out because I felt like I was putting in a ton of work without seeing the improvement I expected.

I came back in Chapter 7 Season 2 with the goal of eventually getting my first earnings, and I’ve run into a similar problem. I’m practicing consistently, VODding, fighting good players, and specifically focusing on weaknesses rather than just mindlessly playing.

The weird part is that I can have days where I feel absolutely insane and can run through people, followed by days where I feel like I can’t win a single fight. Obviously my mechanics and game knowledge haven’t completely disappeared overnight, so I’m starting to wonder what causes such a huge difference in performance.

One thing I’ve recently identified as a potential weakness is tempo. If I get a good start in a fight, I can play really well and maintain momentum, but when I get stuck or lose the flow of a fight, I have a hard time recovering and getting back into control.

For those who have actually gone through a similar plateau, what ended up making the biggest difference for you?

Was it changing how you practiced, reducing the amount of grinding, focusing more on transferring practice into real games, improving decision-making, fixing a specific fundamental, or something completely different?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have spent a lot of time practicing but felt like their improvement wasn’t translating into actual performance.

Discussion The Evolution of MrSavage: From 14-Year-Old World Cup Phenom to 7+ Years of Top-Level FNCS Consistency

I put together a full documentary analyzing MrSavage’s entire career trajectory—from his first 2018 YouTube uploads and legendary Shadow Bomb plays at the World Cup qualifiers to his DreamHack Anaheim championship and recent duo runs: Watch the full documentary here: https://youtu.be/yl5QVruKP80?si=YOvUO4YLbvSpt68Z Out of all the original Chapter 1 pros, MrSavage remains one of the very few players who continues to grind, adapt, and consistently qualify for Grand Finals and major LANs seven years later.

Cheater Report Exploiters in Arena Test Cup

Post image
15 Upvotes

Can someone explain how these people are getting to first place with 20 matches complete and 20 wins? All with zero eliminations, which makes no sense. You need to kill someone if you want to win a tournament. These people have to be exploiting, no?

For me personally, i played 5 matches and got 4 wins, even tho i started at 7 PM like almost everyone else and ended at 8:30 PM when the tournament finished. I ended up placing #983. How in the world did the first place guy get 20 matches in that short timeframe? I ready up immediately every time as soon as a match finishes.

It's a good thing this is a test cup, because whatever exploit they're doing, Fortnite needs to seriously investigate and make sure their dirty tricks don't happen again.

Opinion What’s going on with ranked?

Post image
26 Upvotes

Today was my first day playing the new season and I decided to run some ranked. My first ranked game I jumped off to see what I’ll get as all the greats do. Then my next game was interesting. I q into the game as a plat 1. I ended up killing a champ 3 off spawn??? And then I kill a bronze. Why I don’t understand why they are in the same lobby. I also killed another champ in this game I just don’t understand why there are bronzes and champs in a plat lobby honestly makes no sense at all. Ranked you are supposed to go against people around your rank. Js bring back arena atp🙏

Opinion Ranked is still broken after 3 years

It is insane how ranked is still this bad after years, the SBMM does NOT even work like absolutely not. You should not be able to have Elite-Unreal Legend players in your game when you are Bronze 2. Why is this still a thing it literally destroys the whole point of Ranked, the idea of ranked is that you play against people of YOUR OWN rank and maby 1 higher but not 10 Ranks higher. That is literally not how it works. I have never in my life seen such a horrible system as Fortnites Rank system.

Back in 2023 when Ranked came out it worked perfectly fine. Season OG it was fine, after Chapter 5 it literally got so bad when placement mattered more then kills and after that in Chapter 6 the Ranked point system got incredibly bad.

Fix Ranked it is horrible. Even Valorants Rank system works better and that is already not great.

Discussion Is no one playing ranked br ?

I haven’t played ranked in a quite a while. My first game in silver 2 I killed an unreal player and got killed by a champs. Following game in silver 3 I killed an elite and got killed by an unreal. I don’t ever remember the levels being this mixed. It also takes like 3 minutes to find a game

Discussion How to walk through boxes?

So I was playing solo scrims and and in 2 different situations I just had someone walk right through my wall...... is there a trick to doing it or is it largely just forward momentum? If that makes sense

Discussion Close range - struggling

Hello,
So I’m not new to Fortnite but I have been playing on and off (the longest break I had was 2 years…). I am struggling so hard in close range (shotguns especially) and I wanna ask you guys if you can give me any tips on how to improve on that. I wanna try and start training on kovaaks so if you know any good scenarios that can improve my reaction time/close range accuracy that would be much appreciated.
P.S: my movement overall is not bad at all (I would say), but when it comes to close range I don’t jump (I kinda stay still …marking me an easy target - working on that; also, I don’t know how to train the jumping thing properly- I’m talking about jumping behind enemy in close range to force him to rotate (hope I got that one right - I don’t know how to explain in better).
Thanks in advance and I hope y’all are enjoying the new season even if it’s so sweaty ✨.

What headshot only map is popular now?

Been afk for about 2 years, logged back on just chill with some free building and headshot only box fight.

But raiders464's HS map was dead. Is headshot only dead altogether or is there a new map people play?
