Mystery Pup + Kiddos + Church!

Very sweet little treasure trove. Some kids, a dog, a chapel, a playground.

These images came from an antique camera I bought and it was still filled with a roll of film. I got them developed a few years ago. I can't remember where I bought it or which camera it was from, but I imagine (it's very possible) it was on Cape Cod, Mass. because of the contents.

Regarding the graphic on one of the t-shirts, "In the 1960s and 1970s, The Dennis Inn had multiple incarnations, including The Dennis Inn Restaurant and La Coquille Restaurant." (According to the history of The Dennis Inn.)

The church looks not unlike the church at Old Sturbridge Village.jpg). However, that is admittedly similar to a million cutesy little churches around New England.

Summertime stripes and swinging around a dog. Maybe a family and friends enjoying a summertime beach vacation.

It would be really cool to reunite these with their people. This is the first time they would see these photos of themselves. If this was indeed taken circa 1970, these kids would be in their 60s or so.

Sadly, I am sure the dog is long gone. But it looks like she had a happy life and lots of humans who loved her.

Pictures taken shortly after ww2 ended. The tall man seen in the 1st and 2nd picture is my great-great-grandpa, standing next to my great-great-grandma (in the 1st pic) not sure if she’s also the woman in front of him in the 2nd but I think she is. “Fun”fact she passed away 8 days after he did, in 1965 despite him having been 19 years older!

I have no information on any of these photos.

If at all possible, I would like to know if anyone knows these people, place, or time of when these were taken. There is no information on the back of the photos.

I found and bought them from an antique store a while back from a box full of old photos.

Thank you for your help!

[Longshot] Trying to track down a massive collection of Johnson family photo albums lost in a Toledo storage unit auction (2012–2013)

Hey everyone,

I know this is a massive longshot, but I’ve seen Reddit work miracles, and I am desperate to find the only copies of my family's memories.

My mom passed away in 2012, and in the devastating aftermath, our family lost a storage unit in Toledo, Ohio due to unpaid fees. The contents were sold at auction either in late 2012 or 2013.

The unit contained a huge pile of meticulously documented family photo albums that my mom spent her life putting together. Because storage buyers often sell or donate vintage photos to local thrift stores, antique malls, or flea markets, I’m hoping against hope that they are sitting in someone's attic or a local shop instead of a landfill.

Here are the specific details:

  • The Last Name: Johnson
  • The Timeline: Auctioned off in Toledo around 2012 or 2013.
  • The Contents: A very large volume of photo albums.
  • Distinct Labeled Names: Many of the albums or pages were labeled with our names and nicknames: Katie (or Katie Mae), Lizzie, Steve, and Chris.
  • The Visual Identifier: I have attached the photo used for my mom's obituary in 2012. This exact picture (or prints from the same day) would undoubtedly be mixed into this collection.

If you are a storage unit buyer in Northwest Ohio, a local vintage/antique picker, or if you ever bought a bulk lot of family albums matching this description, please reach out to me. If you know of local Toledo estate sale or auction Facebook groups where I should cross-post this, please let me know.

Thank you all so much.

The antique was in VA, if I had to guess the picture itself might be from the 50s or '60s

Rare Newly Uncovered Images Show Early Mountaineers in Action

Some incredible quality and surprisingly dynamic images here. In late 2025, staff at the Alpine Club in London uncovered a large collection of photographic negatives dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The negatives had been stored in the club’s basement alongside mountaineering equipment and geological specimens.
