We have been inundated with posts of people asking if they can carry at 18 in Georgia if they obtain an out of state CCW. We have a search bar. Please use it. New posts about this topic will be removed.

This is a reminder we have a Discord where we do meet-ups, go to competitions, insult your gun choices, and more.

Just wanted to spread the word that the lock stock and barrel is going to be reopening this weekend.
Anyone who is close, go by and show them some love.
The original owner and his wife and grandson were killed in a robbery several years ago and were beloved by the community. Please support the new owners if you can.

Alan here! Recently got an estate buy and there were 60 guns + accessories and ammo in the lot. Lots of competition stuff, including 3 competition PCC's, thousands of rounds of ammo and parts for days. The guns are out and available and I'm working through the other stuff. If you need mags, AR accessories, or any other random bits, I have them!
As always, PM me for specifics.

Hey everyone,
I am an independent app developer based in Georgia, and like many of you, I wanted a clean way to track my collection, serial numbers, insurance values, and ammo without putting my private data on a company's cloud server.
Most apps out there require you to sign up with an email, upload your serials to their database, or pay a monthly fee. I built Log My Arsenal to offer a secure, offline alternative.
What it does:
Privacy first: No account required, zero cloud sync, and no tracking. All data and photos stay on your device.
Encrypted backups: Export password-protected backup files anytime so your records stay in your hands.
Insurance documentation: Generate clean PDF spec sheets with photos and values ready for insurance claims or estate planning.
Inventory and maintenance: Track firearms, accessories, optics, ammo stash counts, cost-per-round, and cleaning logs.
Spreadsheet friendly: CSV import and export so you do not have to manually re-enter existing records.
Pricing: Free to use for up to 5 firearms, 5 calibers, and 5 gear items. Unlimited items, PDF reports, and encrypted backups are unlocked with a single one-time lifetime Pro purchase (no subscriptions).
As an independent local developer, I would really appreciate any feedback or feature requests from the community. You can search "Log My Arsenal" on the App Store or Google Play, or visit logmyarsenal.com

I have a Sig Sauer p365xl lovely gun but just a little too small for my hands
I want to know where people are selling their firearms I went to adventure outdoor (where I bought it) but they offered me $130, I paid $745 a month ago and never used it. Where can I go to sell?

Long read, but worth the effort.
"Georgia gun owners finally saw HB 472 die in 2026. But we should not make the mistake of confusing the death of one bill with the death of the idea behind it."

They have a scorpion in there for $1200 and I’d pay $1000 tomorrow but I don’t know if they take offers and really and truly that 1 single mag and a no name red dot don’t drive the price up for me. Thanks!

This isn’t a for sale post. And I’m not soliciting any sales. Just moved here. Looking to unload 12-30 single stack and double stack 1911’s. Everything from a factory modern Springfield Armory or Colt to a Nighthawk. Trolling local gun stores in Fannin and Union county, I don’t see a lot of foot traffic and I don’t see a lot of 1911’s in general. Not throwing shade, just a lot of polymer stuff. Don’t want to deal with ATL traffic. Don’t want to deal with online BS or shipping this many.
Anyone ya like? Thanks!

I just realized I didn't post this on Reddit! We're having a raffle for a brand new Springfield 2020 Waypoint in 308. It's $20 to enter and every entry gets you 3 more free chances to win. We're limiting to 100 tickets and we are going to pull the winner on the 31st. Stop by and enter!

GA Code § 16-11-121 (2024):
GA Code § 16-11-122 (2024):
GA Code § 16-11-124 (2024):
So, in GA at least, even though you can be a member of GOA and purchase silencers/arms from PSA in Savannah, since the wording of Georgia's State Law has the word registered in it, we have to wait until the wording is amended?
Can others help shine some light on this for clarification?

Has anyone spoken to the local stores around Atlanta regarding plans for NFA related sales given the recent SilencerShop/GOA vs ATF ruling in Texas? My understanding is if the DOJ does not appeal by today, 8/12/26, then the ruling is applied nationwide.
Would love to pick up a suppressor or two and I have a gun trust if needed, but am curious to hear what the local shops around Atlanta are planning. I reached out to Pro2A, Stoddards, and Adventure Outdoors. Waiting to hear back.
EDIT:
I have not heard back from the specific stores I contacted but PSA put out a pretty clear guidance that I assume will extend to all plaintiffs covered in the lawsuit. Suppressors (not SBR or SBS yet) sold by PSA or dealer network (when sourced directly from PSA) are covered via form 4473 for in store transactions. They will start rolling out an online process imminently.
As of today, 8/13/26, GA is still form 4 because of specific legislation pointed out by [u/fcman256](u/fcman256): https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/title-16/chapter-11/article-4/part-2/section-16-11-124/
SilencerShop made a resource to show which states are still Form 4 and which are 4473: https://www.silencershop.com/where-are-silencers-legal
Gov. Kemp could theoretically spend some political capitol to call a special session of Congress and append those rules if he thinks there is support.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice

I was looking to pick up an affordable handgun and rifle . Was curious what they had.
But also heard the gun shows just sell everything at msrp so they are a waste of time
There is one in canton this weekend. Thinking of going .
Are these a waste of time ?

Just moved here. I shot a lot when I was younger. Took almost a decade off. Just getting back into the swing of things. They’re not like they used to be. Dealing with some health issues. Hoping to find a skilled trainer/instructor who can assess and help get me back closer to where I was. I’m in Fannin county, so prefer Northern GA or TN, NC area. Would prefer to avoid Atlanta. Thanks!
Sorry, realized I’m probably missing important details. Pistols. Target practicing. Not looking to compete, though maybe a bowling pin or steel challenge could be fun.
Used to be able to put 14 on paper and have them all touch. Now I group like a 12 ga…

Do firearms and other weapons like knives have to be secured in a glovebox or some form of a lockbox, in a vehicle on public college campus? It seems redundant since carrying a concealed pistol is allowed. I keep knifes and sometimes other firearms in my vehicle at times. However I'd like to stay on the legal side of things.
*I'm a lawful weapon carrier, I just don't have a GA CCW.

I was reading thru the Prohibited Places in GA, and it talks about nuclear power plants but also appears you can store in your car in a locked compartment or box. Does anyone have experience dealing with this?
*16-11-127.2. Weapons on premises of nuclear power facility
(a) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this Code section, it shall be unlawful for any person to carry, possess, or have under such person's control while on the premises of a nuclear power facility a weapon or long gun. Any person who violates this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
...
(c) This Code section shall not apply to a security officer authorized to carry dangerous weapons pursuant to Code Section 16-11-124 who is acting in connection with his or her official duties on the premises of a federally licensed nuclear power facility; nor shall this Code section apply to persons designated in paragraph (2), (3), (4), or (8) of subsection (c) of Code Section 16-11-127.1.
16-11-127.1. Carrying weapons within school safety zones, at school functions, or on school property:
...
(c) The provisions of this Code section shall not apply to:
(8) A weapon possessed by a lawful weapons carrier which is under the possessor's control in a motor vehicle or which is in a locked compartment of a motor vehicle or one which is in a locked container in or a locked firearms rack which is on a motor vehicle which is being used by an adult over 21 years of age to bring to or pick up a student within a school safety zone, at a school function, or on a bus or other transportation furnished by a school, or when such vehicle is used to transport someone to an activity being conducted within a school safety zone which has been authorized by a duly authorized official or local board of education as provided by paragraph (6) of this subsection; provided, however, that this exception shall not apply to a student attending a public or private elementary or secondary school;*

So I have two factors that make getting a gun in Georgia a bit complicated for me.
I have a drug possession arrest for weed when I was younger(19) , no conviction. Was dropped
when I was 21, I was put in an observational hold at a mental hospital. This was nearly 20 years ago. It was just a few days and there was never a court order or hearing .
Since I’m not interested in a CCL and am thinking I don’t need a WCL, it means the requirements are less strict .
ChatGPT told me that an observational hold is not included in the life time commitment to a mental hospital bans .
So, I feel like I should be good ?
It seems pretty unfair that I would have permanently lost my run rights over a short mental health stay 20 years ago .
Do you think this will prohibit me from purchasing a gun ?

I recently found out about this place after having a horrible time at an indoor range. I’m pretty much online interested in shooting outdoors due to protecting my hearing. I’m recently into shooting after about 20 years and would love to join this place but don’t know any members or how to even go about getting sponsored. Safety is extremely important to me a damn near every place I’ve gone to as I’ve gotten back into this has felt lacking. I also want to be able to have access to a place where I can explore what’s out there in an environment that puts a value on safety.
Are there any members here who are willing to sponsor someone like me who’s getting back into this? I’m responsible, safe, but I’m not someone who is going to be doing insane pistol drills right now. I’m trying to get back into the swing in the things in the best and most responsible way possible.
I would appreciate any help any one could give.
thanks!

I moved to Hinesville a few months ago and have been itching to get back into clay shooting. I used to shoot 2-3 rounds of trap every Saturday before I moved. Haven’t put a single round through any of my shotguns since I moved. Anyone know of some place to shoot trap or skeet near Hinesville?
