Crime nerd that only has a scooter in the game would be hilarious
44
u/pryvisee 14h ago
Imagine it’s dynamic enough that an NPC records you, you get posted on the social media pages and you become famous as the scooter criminal.
15
u/Boil-san 12h ago
The Scooter Bandit...! ;^p

u/Herr-Trigger86 8h ago
I’ve got the entire damn police force with helicopters, motorcycles, road blocks, spike strips, and more guns than most small countries…. and you can’t catch two people on a moped?!?! -Vice City Police Chief

u/bmania89 13h ago
how should a game ever fulfill such demands?
18
9
u/Stev3Cooke 11h ago
Adaptive AI, but people won’t like that
4
u/Low-Weight-6809 9h ago
i was really hoping for adaptive AI in this game but i think rockstar confirmed no gen AI involved right?
4
u/Stev3Cooke 9h ago
Yea they did. Adaptive AI either by machine learning or reinforcement learning is different from generative ai though but I doubt there is any sort of adaptive AI in GTAIV
5
u/AussieAddict 9h ago
I think the main place for adaptive AI would be in the police chases from the looks of things. But I very well could be wrong not at all an expert

This was one thing we were promised with GTA 5 and never received it. GTA 5 trailers implies heavily that we'd be able to carry out heists and robberies on the fly but what we got wasn't that. I was really hoping that GTA 6 would focus around drug smuggling, being Vice City, instead of robberies, but it could be good

Also it doesn't help that in V you could get a wanted level even if you kill a NPC in the middle of nowhere, with no witnesses.
Even RDR2 struggled with that. The moment the game registers "Oh, Arthur is pointing a gun inside a shop/train. Time to call the cops!"
7
u/BBtheboy 13h ago
You can do robberies on the fly in gta5, don't remember them ever promising hiests tho
3
u/XulManjy 9h ago
The GTA5 trailers never suggested as such. Whatever perceptions you had was in your head.
8
u/Railionn 14h ago
I really really hope we can have some sort of schedule 1 type of gameplay. Buying warehouses, having people work for you making drugs, dealing, etc. all while having to stay low and not get caught
3
u/KigurumiHenjin 10h ago
at least you'll be able to steal packs from criminals and offload the drugs to your fences. while i was hoping for a scarface: the world is yours or vice city stories/chinatown wars style of drug entrepreneurship being the focus of the game, this is still enough to satisfy my larping fantasies.

u/p0bbly 12h ago
I've been wondering how you could realistically case a joint before committing to the robbery. Things I'm hoping for:
- in-game signage tells you about security and other clues e.g "this place is monitored by CCTV" and "No money kept in the safe over night"
- call the cops and see how quickly they arrive, and from where. This would be consistent, so you can rely on it happening when it comes to the actual robbery
- alarm system visible on the outside of the building with some way to identify what it is, and thus what'll happen when it trips. Basic noise alarm, silent alarm, linked directly to the police etc
- perhaps staff will even have animation routines such as moving money from the safe to the till, or emptying the safe before locking up and heading off to the nearest ATM. You can chose when you intervene
- different types of entrances, locks and doors than you can check out beforehand. Standard key locks, passcode locks, perhaps a sneaky side window that is left ajar.
- facilities with workers whose uniforms you can steal ahead of time to make it easier to stroll around 'staff only' areas.
- these same staff have access cards which you can mug them for, and then work for a couple of in-game days before getting cancelled
4
u/g0_west 12h ago
emptying the safe before locking up and heading off to the nearest ATM.
Lol imagine if this is how shops cashed up irl
1
u/p0bbly 11h ago
What do they actually do? I have no idea!
4
u/g0_west 11h ago edited 10h ago
People in armoured security vans come and take the cash away directly to the bank. They wear body armour/helmets and may be armed depending on where you are. It's what the Gruppe 6 security cars that you can rob in V are.
An old security worker in the UK robbed a bank by dressing up in his old uniform, walking into the bank 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, and just walking out with all the money they gave him lol. He fled the country and lived abroad for years
1
u/p0bbly 10h ago
Well, even better. If that kind of stuff actually happens while you're on a stake-out, it'd be awesome. Too much to hope for?
Maybe you could even break in somewhere at night. There's no cash, but maybe there's a ledger or a computer that tells you when collections are, to help plan your robbery when there's the most cash available, or try to grab it in transit.
8
u/DankyNuggetree 14h ago
I would love if you could test the response time of cops in a specific area with a false 911 call.
Also, I’m just now realizing it doesn’t really snow here in Florida. I wonder if their new annual weather change for GTA 6 will be hurricane season lol. Imagine robbing a store in the middle of a hurricane 😂 goes out the door and tries to get in your car…… but your car got blown down the street and now you’re following not to far behind
2
u/p0bbly 13h ago
Yes! If cops spawned in from a predictable direction with a predictable response time (called out by the dispatcher, and based on the actual police station locations) that would be brilliant for planning purposes. Of course, there should always be the chance of a random patrol car getting to the scene first.
1
u/Shadow-Of-The-Beast 6h ago
Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking too with fake 911 calls to test their reaction time, how they handle the situation etc lol. Obviously I doubt Rockstar would actually let us do something that specific, but now I’m wondering how they’d handle it if they did. Would the call be traceable? Could making too many fake calls from the same area eventually make the cops suspicious? Lol
3
u/Moonraker74 11h ago
Are you saying there are gonna be EX-PRESIDENTS MASKS WE CAN WEAR WHILE ROBBING BANKS?!?!?!
3
u/Penny_PackerMD 10h ago
I dont think its gonna be that deep
1
u/Poudy24 10h ago
It's kind of confirmed. It's not going to be every location but some stores can be robbed in multiple different ways, some loud and dumb and others so stealthy no one will even know you were there.
The game 100% won't force you to case a joint before you rob it but you'll certainly be able to roleplay as if you have to and actually get some useful info out of it
2
u/ironmanhulkbstr 8h ago
the way the game was, i wont be playing it as a gta game imo, ill just play it as a free roam sim, maybe car racing game, grind money through that mainly
1
1
u/Standard_Film_9524 9h ago
With being able to "split up" you could cause your own diversions (assuming police force is not an unlimited number of cops that just keep spawning) on one character and do a robbery on another while the cops are busy.
1
u/DoubleJump29 2h ago
This does absolutely not sound stupid. This is the level of immersion I was hoping for with this game! A more grounded, realistic, and immersive GTA.
26
u/orccrusher69 11h ago
Fucking brilliant. RDR2 was the perfect roleplaying game that wasn't actually a roleplaying game. More of that in GTA 6 please.
9
u/Shadow-Of-The-Beast 3h ago
This. Yep, I love the direction they’re taking with their games. More depth, more interactivity, more consequences, more physicality, and most importantly, more emergent gameplay. What I really like is that Rockstar doesn’t need to turn GTA into a traditional RPG with stats, skill trees and all that. They can build those RPG elements directly into the world and let everything interact naturally.
RDR2 already felt like the perfect roleplaying game that wasn’t actually an RPG. You could just exist in the world, interact with things and create your own little stories through the systems.
From what we’ve seen of GTA VI so far, it looks like they’re pushing that idea even further. More reactive NPCs, more interactions, more consequences and more systems working together to create situations organically, almost like an immersive sim. That’s the kind of evolution I want to see: an RPG-like experience, but in real time, dynamic, fluid and seamless, without ever feeling like a traditional RPG.

First playthrough: Lucia and Jason, good citizen/criminals
Second playthrough: Lucia and Jason creating havoc
Third playthrough: Jason=good, Lucia=bad
Fourth playthrough: Jason=bad, Lucia=good
5
u/NewTelevision4279 14h ago
Im not sure if you are aware but the actual metrics are “Relationship / Crime”
There isn’t a morality or honour in the game from what we’ve been told
25
u/jackoliver09 14h ago
Yes, what I mean is that I will try to be a good criminal and will try to do crimes without being noticed by the cops/NPCs to keep my criminal profile as clean as possible. But will also try create havoc on other playthroughs.
4
u/AccomplishedEcho7386 12h ago
Sure , they Talk about it in Interviews. Lucia and Jason dont have to be in a at least romantic relationship. If they dont get along it will have consequences on how well they Work togehter. And the morality/ honour System is there but i works a bit different.

I think rockstar noticed how many people play and love gta v rp server and used alot of that information for gta6. Game is gonna be amazing and we have yet to know anything about gta 6 online, which is another mind fuck waiting to happen lol.

u/grillarinobacon 11h ago
I mean they brought 5m onto the team.

And bought the tech outright as well. Only reason I'm excited for GTAO2 is potential role play servers.

u/CrotasScrota84 15h ago
It’s funny I have the ability to do whatever I want in GTA but my moral compass doesn’t let me for some reason I will try to drive safe to quests and shit like that. I have to really force myself to do bad shit. lol
46
u/Foxtrot_ARM 14h ago edited 14h ago
Maybe in the second play-through it will be easier to let go and wreak havoc. That’s what I tell myself.
24
u/Regular-You-4038 14h ago
This is what I did in RDR2. Good honour first, then let it rip and did a bad honour play through. I feel like this will have a lot of options for replaying.
38
u/c-u-n-t-o 14h ago
I have the opposite problem. Seeing all those NPCs on the beach makes me want to see how many I can KO with a monster truck as soon as I get the game.

God I love the duality between GTA fans, makes me glad it seems like it'll be fun for both sides of that coin
6
6
u/JAKE-J-96 14h ago
I have been the same. I think it comes down to my inability to 'be the character' im playing. I always seem to make them some version of me to an extent.
2
u/CrotasScrota84 13h ago
Yeah I think that is it I just immerse myself like I’m the character and what I would do.
3
u/derrick2462 8h ago
This is the kind of thing I love about games: immersion. A world that is so interactive and responsive that it actually changes how the average player behaves.
Just like Rob Nelson said in dazed magazine interview, you’ll think twice before jumping into a tank and cause chaos. For me, there’s a huge difference between NPCs behaving like they did in older GTA games and NPCs in VI being able to beg you for mercy or try being a hero and fight the player.
7
u/MBP1121 14h ago
I was like that with Arthur in rdr2. It just didn’t feel right to play him as a stone cold killer.
But… every now and again, someone would piss me off and I’d knee cap em, hogtie em, drag em behind my horse to the nearest body of water, then dump em in it face down and go about my bidness.
It was always worth spamming hello in Saint Denis for a few minutes afterwards.

2
u/Oak-Tree-8439 12h ago
For me it's not about my own moral compass but the game's moral compass. I know they've been saying that the criminal profile thing is not the same thing as it was in RDR2, but I don't believe it because why did it increase when Jason petted the hecking doggerino then?
They're masking this as "you can do whatever you want" but in the end it's obvious there will be an objective correct choice for everything that will get you the best ending.
2
u/Excellent_Ad_2486 7h ago
Here I am killing ALL animals I see IN RDR while crying when a pigeon has a Lil hurt toe IRL 😂
2
u/SarcasticSarco 14h ago
Me too man. I don't know. If I indulge in violence for long time, I get some very weird feeling. Not feeling bad or anything but completely different feeling I experience.
1
u/throwmeinthetrassssh 43m ago
Yeah I'll load up a save and go wild a bit but then I'll just reload it and play as a nice guy (well as much as you can while still playing the game lol)

Inability to discern reality from fiction is a sign of low intelligence
4
u/CrotasScrota84 9h ago
Also low intelligence for people who cannot read and understand what someone is talking about.

u/tommelom00 14h ago
Gta 6 = immersive sim confirmed? XD
3
u/Charming-Pangolin662 9h ago
I'm so hopeful this is the case. I feel that as niche a genre as they are - I'd absolutely count RDR2 as an example of how popualr immersive sims can be.
3
u/nadnerb811 6h ago
RDR2 may signal an appetite for immersive elements in games, but it is not an immersive sim... by a wide margin.
Here's to hoping that GTA VI's systems play well enough together to allow player creativity and freedom as an immersive sim would. Maybe free roam robberies and those gang hideouts are what will scratch that itch.
Also Batman should have an immersive sim game, as his character would lend very well to the format.

u/Dortiiik 15h ago
“I’m proud of the huge dongs our team has made into the game, we even included real physics based on the data of hundred of pepee based on the studies at Brazzers university”
5
u/cottonopposite 13h ago
Really like the way this is going..kind of still wish there were houses to buy but get that it doesn't make sense with the story potentially.
But the idea that with the wanted system, you could plan out well constructed robberies etc rather than just drive away until the wanted stars disappear is cool.
12
u/p0bbly 11h ago
There could be a whole post-story system of property and business buying. All that stuff will be needed for GTAVI Online eventually.
1
u/cottonopposite 11h ago
I hope so. I know it's minor in regard to actual gameplay but I always liked the idea of getting pads with criminal proceeds and parking whips in the garages.

music is such a big part of gaming for me
im really interested to see what direction they go with the radio stations
3
u/Mr_Pletz 9h ago
God this is what I needed to hear. Role playing in RDR2 was my favorite part, to a point I would use mods to just be able to sit on benchs or have longer smoking animations.
I dont want the Sims, but I just want to feel the "weight" of existing in a world and taking it in slowly. Traveling long distances on foot in RDR2 (in first person) would blow me away time after time because it was such a well crafted world.
2
u/BlueChamp10 11h ago
When i watched videos covering the patents for GTA 6 i though that stuff was unreal. Some of the stuff was complex, i thought it could be for future projects. After the reveal i’m absolutely shcoked it’s all in the game. I encourage everyone to check out older videos that cover the patents and you’ll appreciate what they’ve done.
2
u/Fotznbenutzernaml 14h ago
Honestly, with the way the trailers have been done, I feel like I can't get wasted in this game or restart a mission because it would feel like any other "just try until it works" game.
If the game really is the way it's shaping up to be, I truly feel this "every thing you do has a consequence"
1
u/Firecracker048 8h ago
I'm replaying gta5 now just to refresh myself on systems and I kinda forgot how put together the world already was. It's only going to get better, too.
1
u/sytraxis 8h ago
That's what I noticed beneath the graphics and gameplay, the systems at work allowing you to make some deep choices is really incredible. Almost like they've borrowed some ideas from some "spreadsheet" games.
1
u/DannySpud2 8h ago
I hope there's a way to just mess around, even if it's save scumming or something. I wanna be able to go on a rampage every so often without it being "canon" to my playthrough. Unless maybe stuff outside of missions doesn't count towards criminal profile/relationship?
1
u/vanillagorilla_ 7h ago
I think NakeyJakeys video on their game design single-handedly added a few years to the development
1
u/dogpilemusic 7h ago
This is really interesting and I think something they probably successfully expanded upon really well since RDR2.
Small example, but on a second playthrough of RDR2 I was trying to get a lot of hunting done early in Chapter 2, and I had one of those scenes happen where Arthur spoke with Mary-Beth at camp and she asks how he's doing. Arthur responded something like, "I've been out there killing animals for no reason" while wearing gear from the trapper lol. It kind of made me feel bad, like instead of slowly enjoying the game and hunting, I was making Arthur go out into the wild and take out his frustrations with the gang on animals.

I kinda get this one.
RDR2 was such a beautiful game that I found myself not wanting to go on a rampage… I did many times but I find myself wanting not to. Maybe thats credit to beautiful world craft or maybe I’m just more centred in my old age.

Why would TGG be allowed to get all this information?
1
u/Cereborn 9h ago
Rockstar appears to have partnered with particular streamers/YTers and is using them to publish info rather than just posting videos of Rob Nelson or someone talking about the game’s features.
Back in the old days, a magazine like GamePro would have gotten an exclusive to publish a sneak preview of an upcoming game.

u/Additional_Fish4907 9h ago
I am glad they build games that are so complex but everything about GTAVI sounds exhausting as fuck

Rockstar really handed him a huge payday good for him
