I genuinely don’t understand why everyone suddenly wants a PS5 Pro just for GTA 6
I honestly don’t get why so many people are going crazy over the idea of buying a PS5 Pro specifically for GTA 6.
Have you guys actually seen how good this game looks on the regular PS5? It already looks absolutely insane. The lighting, reflections, environments, character models, vegetation, everything looks ridiculously detailed. And somehow people are acting like the PS5 Pro is going to make GTA 6 look twice as good just because it’s the Pro.
Let’s be realistic. The PS5 Pro costs significantly more than the standard PS5, but there is absolutely no way GTA 6 is going to look twice as good on it. In fact, I’ll go one step further: I wouldn’t be surprised if the graphical difference is barely noticeable in normal gameplay.
Sure, the Pro might give you a better resolution, more stable performance, better ray tracing or some other enhancements. I’m not saying there will be zero difference. (still no 60fps…)
But are people seriously expecting a completely different-looking game? Because I just don’t see it.
Rockstar is clearly designing GTA 6 to look incredible on the base PS5. The standard console is the baseline, and from everything we’ve seen so far, it already looks phenomenal.
If you already own a PS5, I genuinely don’t understand spending a huge amount of money on a Pro just because of GTA 6.
I think people are going to be seriously disappointed by how small the visual difference actually is.

I gotta see the difference because i doubt it would look much better on the pro given the cpu is the same. Clock speed doesnt equate to much.

Have you seen the Pro mode on current PS5 titles? Night and day difference. If anything, the Pro has better raytracing performance which will help with the blurry reflections in many scenes. Might get 40fps with PSSR, but that’s probably a stretch.

It doesn't help with CPU bound games though. I've even worked on CPU PS5 games and the pro doesn't get you to 40 for free.

yah, 10% CPU power improvement doesn't equate to 33% increase in FPS or 50% decrease in latency.

The amount of money spent vs the return on performance wont be worth I reckon.. but each to their own lol

They want it to look as best as possible. Simple as that.
Nobody is claiming it will look twice as good, you just pulled that out of nowhere.

As others have stated, it’s JUST about having the best experience possible when the game drops. My second or third play through on PC won’t have the same magic as the first. I’m betting on the Pro having much higher resolution raytraced reflections, which was the only distraction for me in the trailer. Don’t get me started on the Burgundy Van scene.

Agreed. Unless the pro has a 60fps performance mode, it's next to pointless in my opinion.
... For what? Better ray tracing and a rock solid 30fps. Lol. It's laughable.

Some people care about that shit. Like the visible noise on ray tracing on the PS5, which wouldn’t be on the Pro. I personally don’t, but I’ve seen enough people talk about it that’s it’s clearly an issue for them.

It's because people want to play it on the most powerful console out there and that's the PS5 Pro. I'm expecting a lot more stable frame rate on the Pro compared to the base console. And that's worth it

In my case, this is my personal most anticipated game of my whole life for now. So I'd like to play it in the best possible way there is for release. So even if its just 5% better looking or having 5% less FPS drops or whatever the difference might be, it be already worth it to me. Before anybody gets angry again. WORTH IT TO ME, PERSONALLY.

My pro will be used for the first time for wolverine but i mainly copped it for GTA6. Their will be some sort of difference but base players will not miss out if anything man. It'll be greatness!

I have a PC where I play games at the highest quality, gaming is one of my many hobbies, so I invest in it. At this time, PS5 Pro is one of the best consoles on the market so I'm getting that.

I got mine for €150 second-hand. The 2020 version only needed the liquid metal replaced. I pre-ordered the game with a US account for €78 for the complete version. When I play it, I'll sell the account with the game and the console. I might even make some money. Screw Sony, I'm a PC gamer.

I’m getting it mostly for GTA6, but also for all my other games and improve that experience. This game convinced me to get it but I would not have gotten it for this game alone. People who are buying their first console or upgrading from a PS4 etc, you might as well go for the best available option of the budget allows it.

It makes sense to buy the Pro now because it's the best PS5 available, if you already have a base PS5 there is absolutely no reason to upgrade.

Edit: and PSSR is a pretty amazing tech. I’d go as far to say the new version is incredible. It’s going to make a big difference in GTA6.

Not everyone is getting a PS5 Pro. I was planning on getting a PlayStation 5 in order to play Grand Theft Auto VI under the assumption that the price of the console would be going down. Instead the price went up. Now I’m debating whether or not I want to pay $650 for a five year old console.

People want, what they believe will be a generational experience, in the best possible quality. For now that is on the PS5 pro. It's not that deep.
