Short-Term Future

A lot of analysts are saying our premiership window is shut. I don't entirely agree besides our ruck and and forward line being on the weaker side. I could see us hanging around mid table next year however equally I think we could push for the top 6 if our players are fit with a longer offseason than usual. I thought our window was shut after the 2022 season and things changed very quickly.

Yeah we seem to have a lot of doom and gloom in the fan base; I think we’ll be alright, I have faith in Kingers and the team.

It shut when Brent Daniels horrendously Blazed of the ground in that final and handed Greatness to the Lions .... siding door right there

Seeing Brisbane potentially 3 peat off the back of that game is cruel for sure

Can see that Binga bit in fucking slow motion

The other moment is the year prior with Toby missing everything with a checkside kick against the Pies, something he kicks a good 7/10 times

As well as Bont streaming through the middle in 2016 prelim

As well as Heeney playing the best game I’ve ever seen

As well as Dylan Shiel being knocked out

Horrific memories

A lot of analysts say a lot of crap to try and get a lot of clicks.

Fully fit squad, focused squad, no will they won’t they ageing signings and away you go. Demons a good example of this

I agree with you about the team needing to be fully fit. Hand in hand with that is reducing injuries where possible. We seem to be hit, year after year, with a combination of bad luck and other factors that lead to key players out due to injury. I genuinely believe the players have the talent to go all the way in years to come.

I don’t think we are close to premiership contenders next season but I feel more optimistic about next season than I did coming into this one tbh.

I’m glad we didn’t make finals this year because we absolutely would have been making up numbers and papering over obvious cracks. I’m excited to see the next gen step up next season and see what we have been building come to fruition a bit more.

Interested to see who we gain/lose.

I will say, I hope I’m wrong but I havnt seen whatever the more knowledgeable people at the club have seen when it comes to madden. Hope I’m proved very wrong next season.

We have a good team when fit. Even if you take out the players media and club are suggesting will be leaving

We have arguably one of the best midfields in the comp with clarry, Finn and Tom.

We have 2 of the top 5 best tall defenders in the game with Sam and Bucks

We have arguably one of the leagues best young and emerging forwards in Cads.

We have arguably 2 of the best small forwards in the game with Binga and Darcy. (And Phoenix if he keeps tracking)

2 of the most damaging small defenders in whitters and Ash

It’s a proper good team. I don’t get the doom and gloom out there.

Im optimistic. We had a ridiculous amount of players missing through injury. Imagine seeing a midfield of Oliver, Callaghan and Green go at it. Add in having Buckley and Taylor actually play together again. Jones and Daniels back in the side

Well you can run the side and the AFL if you don't agree.

Its shut. Like super shut. Freo won't even win it this year and neither will Sydney.

Both of those team have large windows.
