General Parking email

Post image

What does this email address? Is it saying that in the morning if you use PCASH you can’t park at these lots at these times?

This is such bullshit. It’s known as a commuter college. It’s already hard enough with the traffic and the fact our busses don’t leave campus for off campus living like tech. I hate this school’s disorganization.

They could easily implement crossing guards for the first two weeks of school to help with all of the Parking issues and traffic, but they don’t. Every semester they do the same thing and let everyone fend for themselves.

If you have a semester permit for a specific deck, you are able to park in that deck. Only parkers with PCASH will be turned away.

Before 8:00am M-F you are able to park in the above decks with PCASH and after the morning rush you will be able to park in the same decks.

Hey u/GSU-Parking-Trans how come GSU is now sending emails from noreply@parking-receipt.com? Both these recent ones - that are newly from this address - have ended up in my quarantine folder and I just happened to see them. I just about assumed the first one was spam because it had zero gsu branding or email address in it.

(I understand whoever is posting from this account likely has zero input into this decision. But please pass along that it was a bad move. Also, sending yesterday's email at 4:40 on a Friday afternoon? Also not the best)

Hi there. Thank you for the feedback regarding the recent parking emails.

The emails are generated and sent through the AIMS parking system (parking portal), and I'm not sure how much control we have over the sender address or branding. However, I have forwarded your feedback to the individuals who are familiar with the system and would be in the best position to determine whether changes can be made. I agree that clearer GSU branding would help recipients recognize the messages as legitimate university communications.

I also wanted to personally thank you for all the good you do within this Reddit community. We frequently see you helping fellow students, faculty, and staff find answers to parking and transportation questions. Your willingness to share information and assist others is truly appreciated.

Regarding the email that went out Friday afternoon about PantherCash parking access, I wanted to provide a little context. Each year, parking attendants monitor deck occupancy and begin turning away PantherCash parkers as facilities approach approximately 75-80% capacity. Since Wednesday, attendants have been turning away PantherCash parkers during this busiest arrival period.

Parking leadership met Friday afternoon and felt it was only fair to notify affected parkers in advance rather than allowing them to drive to the gate only to be turned away. Current data indicates that approximately 250-300 PantherCash parkers attempt to enter the decks during that timeframe each day. We will continue to monitor deck capacity and reevaluate as we stabilize.

That said, we absolutely recognize that earlier and more frequent communication is better, and your feedback is well taken. We are committed to improving how and when we communicate operational changes going forward.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback and for everything you do to help the GSU community.

Best regards,

I wouldn't take the risk. On Wednesday, I arrived at T Deck at 10:10, but then they sent me to S, K, and N decks. I arrived at 10:50, and they asked me if I had a semester pass. I said no, so they asked me to move over. I got stuck in traffic for another 20 minutes, missed my first class, and had to pay 26 for daily parking at a lot near GSU, worst day ever.
