The NSEA Protector sits above Epsilon Gorniar II, where things have gone somewhat less smoothly for Commander Peter Quincy Taggart. The scene recreates the wonderfully stupid rock monster chase, with Gorignak lumbering after Taggart across the planet surface.

And because this is Galaxy Quest, there is also an extra tan piece included for anyone who feels the scene is more authentic with Taggart inexplicably topless. Though they weren't on the planet, I've included a cutaway to the ship with Mathesar and Laliari watching over the events. 'HaaAAAaaAA-aaa-aa-aaaa...' indeed.

If anyone is watching the new Season, there are GQ references in both of the 1st two episodes, LOL. It might be a running gag throughout Season 4, fun watch! (In episode 2 tonight, they find an abandoned Starship and the captain is: Captain Taggart!) In episode 1 they used the 'pedal to to the metal Captain!' line from GQ as well. Check it out! Great season so far too.

I could swear on my life that during the Rock Monster portion that the monster had Nesmith in a hold or something. He asked Laredo to shoot him, and Laredo asked where or something like that. Jason said "by it's balls" or something similar. I haven't seen that scene in years whenever I see it anymore. Did I imagine that, has it been removed, or only on a specific version?

My father and I used to watch galaxy quest when I was a kid (15+ years ago) and we have some references and quotes we still use today. Unfortunately, my wife is not a fan of the movie. I laughed more than any movie has made me laugh for years. I also was touched, surprised, delighted, vindicated ( granted one would have to be pretty dumb to miss the 15 second Chekhov's gun) and Im utterly satisfied with how I spent this hour and a half of my life.
