disappointed in the galaxy tab s10plus

Upvotes

my experience with the tab s10 plus has been so disappointing. it is a 1000 usd machine and it is so unpolished. firstly the wifi chip is so fucking bad. in the specs it says that it has wifi 6e but whenever i try to connect it to my wifi 6e hotspot it shows up in the auto hotspot setting but never connects and with my home wifi 6 router it drops the connection more that it keeps it while no other device has any problem. when i try to unlock it using the power button may time it doesn't turn on and i have to press it 2 time then it turns on and immediately turns off then after the third time it turns on if it wants to. the battery is rlly bad icl and overall very disappointed.

please share your experiences maybe it is user error or i have a faulty device

Why tablet for school/uni?

I'm genuinely curious.

Why not notebook? Good tablet with keyboard is not cheaper than notebook. It's not noticebly lighter.

Im curious because i have bought galaxy tab 9 ultra couple years ago (i was out of home for long time needed big screen for netflix) and I still strugle to use it to its full potential.

It's gorgeous for media consumption, but anything active seems awkward.

Everything i do, seems easier to be done in windows or mac or Linux, than on tablet.

Of course that can be user error. That's why I'm asking.

Question I need YouTube completely not usable.

As the title states I need YouTube completely gone. My daughter who is on the spectrum (8 years old) is able to work around the parental controls to be able to pull it up and I cant seem to figure out how she gets around the password. I would can "disable" the app but she also knows how to enable it again with typing in the search bar and getting into the settings that way. Ive bought app locker apps and she can work those as well.

Ive tried putting her on a child locked account but she knows how to swap the account even has gone as far as making a new one to sign into or enter some kind of guest account. I just want the app completely gone and not able to be downloaded from the Play Store period.

She still needs the Play Store to be able to sync so the games she has saved so I cant just disable the Play Store. If someone can help that would be awesome she is just too dang smart for the simple methods to keep her off YouTube.

Why is my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra so slow since last update?

Post image
24 Upvotes

My Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 14.6" (One UI 8 / Android 16) runs at roughly half its original performance, and I can back this up with measurements:

- Geekbench 7 single-core: 727 (reference for this device: ~1260)

- The prime core (CPU7, Cortex-X2) is capped: scaling_max_freq = 1,401,600 kHz while cpuinfo_max_freq = 2,995,200 kHz — only 47% of nominal

- An active thermal mitigation is engaged (cooling device "thermal-cluster-1-2", state 13), although the tablet stays cool to the touch with no load

- The cap survives a reboot

- Identical results on battery and plugged in

- Energy saving is off, no performance profile is set

So the throttling is not explained by heat, battery state, or any user setting. It looks like the power/thermal management in the firmware is capping the CPU permanently.

Is this a known issue with One UI 8 on the Tab S8 series? How can I get the tablet back to full performance?

Sharing a bunch of free planner templates I made for Samsung Notes (September Update)

This update includes planners/templates with actual dates and new designs.

I’ve been making planner pages and digital planners for a while, and I realized I’ve accumulated a pretty ridiculous number of different layouts by now.

Since I use PDFs for planning on tablets, I made versions that work nicely with Samsung Notes and the S Pen, and I thought I’d share some of the free ones here in case anyone else wants to try them.

There’s a pretty wide mix in the folder, so it’s not just one big planner you have to commit to. You can grab individual pages, try a few different approaches, or use one of the complete planners.

Some of the things included:

  • Daily planner pages
  • Weekly planner layouts
  • Monthly planners
  • To-do lists and task pages
  • Schedule and time-blocking layouts
  • Habit trackers
  • Goal-setting pages
  • Priority and focus pages
  • Project planners
  • Meeting notes
  • General notes pages
  • Productivity templates
  • Budget and finance pages
  • Expense and savings trackers
  • Meal planners
  • Health and wellness trackers
  • Routine planners
  • Reflection/review pages
  • Journals and various other trackers
  • A few complete digital planners 2026

The files are PDFs, so I normally just import them into Samsung Notes and use them with the S Pen like a regular notebook/planner.

I put the free versions together here on Google Drive

Feel free to download whatever looks useful. I’ve also made quite a few other Samsung Notes planner layouts over time. If you want to browse those for ideas, I keep the larger collection.

Also, if there’s a particular type of page that you wish existed for Samsung Notes, let me know. I’m always looking for ideas for layouts I haven’t tried yet.

P.S. All templates are usable with apps like GoogNotes, Penly, Notability, Nebo as well.

Discussion Galaxy Tab S10 FE, A11+ & S10 Lite real world use perspective review

As everyone here knows by this point I have owned the A11+ and S10 Lite and have discussed them at length. What HAS changed is I have been using an S10 FE 8GB/128GB that I borrowed from one of my employees.

So let's get started..

The A11+ & S10 Lite are the 6GB/128GB versions and the S10 FE 8GB/128GB

The S10 FE is a lovely tablet for what it is and has a very nice LCD display and performance is pretty much what I expected.

Yes apps open nice and fast and everything is smooth and there's no issue with multitasking or reading, note taking or watching videos.

I tested the following apps on each:

MX Player

Comic Screen

Facebook

Lumii Photo Editor

Probably the one thing I DID notice is multitasking is much more enjoyable on the S10 FE and A11+ than it is on the S10 Lite. What really sets these two apart from the S10 Lite is how smooth and effortless it feels to multitask on the S10 FE and A11+ both do it VERY smoothly, yet the S10 Lite feels like it is using brute force or pushing to multitask and it doesn't feel quite as smooth or seamless like one would expect of a tablet in 2026.

When it comes to running one app at a time (no multitasking) apps open nice fast in the S10 FE and obviously faster than the A11+ & S10 Lite which is to be expected.

Photo editing was a breeze on all of them and I just did the basic photo cropping and adjustment of colors along with removing/replacing the background in an typic picture, nothing too fancy.

Watching movies using MX Player and testing Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home 1080p MKV file from the SD card on each tablet was pleasant on all and since the A11+ & S10 Lite displays are almost the same quality I didn't notice any difference in video quality sound was of equal quality although slightly louder on the A11+. The S10 FE has a better better display than both and the colors seemed a little richer and the blacks are a tiny bit darker. Sound quality was about the same, maybe a bit fuller like it seemed more immersive (I really don't know how to describe it properly so please forgive me).

Reading Manga on all three is quite nice although I did notice you have to adjust the blue light filter on each a little differently to get the best view while reducing eye strain. I think the subtle differences in the displays of each tablet is what required the fine tuning as I was reading the same manga on each. So the experience is quite in this regard.

Facebook ran flawlessly on all three and there wasn't any noticeable differences.

I didn't test any games as I don't game on tablets, yet I presume the S10 FE would provide the best gaming experience simply due to better processor and more RAM.

So in summary the performance was pretty much as expected.

The S10 FE & A11+ feel like very modern tablets for 2025/26 at their respective performance levels. The S10 Lite feels like a tablet from 2023/24, yet just didn't have that modern smoothness as one would expect (which makes sense as it's essentially the S9 FE with a few minor changes)

What really DID surprise me was I was expecting more of a performance gap in favor of the S10 FE and A11+ as the S10 FE is like 30% faster, yet felt closer to 25% faster just doing the normal tasks pretty much everyone does.. Yet the performance gap was much more evident between the S10 FE & S10 Lite and I think it's just because the S10 FE feels much smoother....

At the end of the day they are very good tablets for what they are and I honestly doubt tablets from other companies offering the same level of performance can offer as premium experience simply because Samsung offers the best software experience of any Android based tablet maker.

I want to thank everyone in advance who takes the time to read this and hopefully it all makes sense. 😄

Discussion should i get the samsung s7 fe in 2026

i will literally only use it for note taking, light browsing, light gaming (arknights, pjsk), drawing (ibis paint)

can the tablet still handle these tasks smoothly? can it be used as a second monitor smoothly?

also is the issue of no more major update a concern?

Question Default Pictures or Wallpapers

Post image
2 Upvotes

A few years ago I owned a youtube channel and I showed what my youtube channel looked like (the channel does not look like this anymore) and I noticed that I had this this profile picture down below

I could immediately tell that I had gotten this picture from one of those default pictures that Samsung tablets automatically had in their gallery. If anybody could help me or tell me what this picture was that would be great. Thanks.

Question Urgent info on Tab s10 lite

I'm a university student first year med school and im looking for a tablet to use for studying and taking notes. My budget is pretty limited and the s10 lite caught my eye as where i live costs 378€ and comes with the original Samsung slim keyboard and s pen. Problem is that online I've seen not so good reviews about it because of the processor. Is there anybody who already has this tablet and could tell me if it performs well for studying/reading pdfs/taking notes? I don't wanna spend a lot of money getting a new tablet every year so im trying to look for one who lasts me at least 5/6 without major slowing problems. Would u recommend the s10 lite? Or do u have any other suggestion?

I finally found the stand I've been looking for. I recommend it to everyone. It's great that it can turn 3600 and go up and down. My tablet is S10 Fe+ 13.1". It is also compatible with 11" to 14" tablets.

¿Alguien sabe si Samsung ha confirmado cuándo llegará One UI 8.5 al Galaxy Tab A9+ (SM-X210)? Me interesa saber si hay una fecha aproximada o algún calendario de actualización oficial para este modelo.

Question Galaxy Tab 11 Ultra - HDR streaming

I currently have a tab s7 plus which honestly works fine, except for one thing, which is that streaming from Apple TV+ looks like absolute muted dogshit.

From what I can gather it seems to be a bug to do with HDR incompatibility.

So before making the jump to the S11 Ultra I'd really like to know what experiences people had using it to stream from the various services.

I'd also like to know how it performs with 4k HDR mkv files in Plex and Kodi.

Recommendation - tablet for a teacher

Hello guys.

So, my mom - who's a teacher - is looking for a tablet to take to meetings, take notes & convert them to text, do some office work, write and edit documents, view and edit spreadsheets, web browsing, checking emails, move files between the tablet and her Windows laptop, and maybe connect the tablet to an external screen to work with multiple files or to share a presentation or a media file.

I was looking at the Samsung Tab S10 and S11 line, and I'm unsure if the S10 FE+ would be enough for her.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

S9 Ultra or S10FE+ for university student use.

Am looking to buy a Samsung tablet for note taking, reading documents, and all non-typed and non-windows-specific-software use.
Main use will be note taking or using a notes app splitscreen with i.e. maths questions alongside. For this reason and personal preference I have opted for large screen models. Both second hand prices for these devices range from £350 to £450.

My main concern with the S10FE+ is the longevity of the processor, as I have previously had an A10 phone (2019) that slowly got laggier and laggier. I would not be able to tolerate any lag whilst using handwritten notes.

I am new to using a tablet but enjoyed using digital notes with a microsoft surface pro (although the writing was bad)

Other models I was considering (all second hand):

S9+

S10+

I need a big screen, longevity and reliability, and pen use.

I am not concerned about the S9 loss of updates.

Question S10 ultra not charging

Last time I used the tab there was about 20% charge left. That was about 2 days back. Tried to turn it on today and the battery has drained out. Connected the charger but the screen is stuck on the lightning bolt icon & does not progress to the screen where it shows the percentage of battery that has been charged.

Tried three different chargers including a 45 W one but no luck. Also tried pressing the power & volume down button together. The screen goes black after 10 seconds then the lightning bolt icon reappears. Cannot get to the Samsung logo screen pressing power & volume down button.

Anyone faced a similar issue? Is this pointing to a faulty charging port or software issue?

Discussion Future of Android Tablets (With Googlebooks coming)

Obviously we have the big launch of GoogleBook coming in the next couple of weeks which is heavily based on Android with a number of convertible/tablet type devices coming in the first wave.

What do we think is going to be the impact on Android tablets? I fear they're going to be stuck in some kind of limbo where they basically get stuck as "big phones" from an OS point of view and the new "GoogleBook" OS (whatever it gets called) takes all of the "Desktop" feature focus away.
