I went to renew my library card today and turns out they have a lot of X-Men classics. Here's X-Men Gambit & Rogue and X-Men: The Animated Series, The Further Adventures. 😁

Since we officially have 25 year old Inde Navarrette as Rogue I wanted to look for options for Gambit that could play alongside her. I tried SO hard to find actors from New Orleans or Louisiana in general that could work for the role but I could only find one that fits the look but it seems like he’s on the older end being potentially in his mid 30s. I’m putting his grid picture in the comments anyway.

I looked for actors that were between 25-30 and most that I found just happen to be around 29. I would have preferred slightly younger but I wanted actors that I felt could pull of the charismatic charm and presence of Remy. I know that Gambit specifically speaks Louisiana French and that it’s not quite the same as European French but I figured it made sense to mostly find actors that can already speak French and have them work with a dialect coach to master the Cajun accent.

I happened to be listening to Vanessa Williams' 1992 hit, "Save the Best for Last," and I was curious what '90s era song would you think fits Gambit and Rogue's relationship.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS for those that haven't been reading Uncanny X-Men, though I am 6 months behind due to only using Marvel Unlimited.

I really like a lot of what theyre doing with the Louisiana X-Men, especially the mentoring that's happening. Gambit receiving the left eye of Agamotto has been a weird but welcome complement to his powers. And his interactions with Sadurang have all been interesting. What's best, is that none of it seems out of character. Gambit steals the eye than sweet talks the freaking dragon he took it from. I love Sadurangs perception of Remy and how they're constantly tossing titles and nicknames at each other when talking.

Just wanted to share. I look forward to continuing the run as the app catches up. Until then, I'm not sure what semi-current to read with the Cajun. Any recommendations. I'll probably reread his solos and Mr & Mrs X if nothing else.

Hello, friends! Where online do you guys acquire most of your Gambit-specific collections? I'm assuming eBay, but are there other recommended outlets? I also use COMC and browse Meraki, Whatnot, and FB Marketplace.

Made a Gambit reading list and am working through it. This is from Uncanny X-Men #266, his intended first appearance. Really glad that they changed his powers from green to pink/purple. And his skin changing color as well is such an interesting choice. Not necessarily good or bad, but just interesting.

My sister is trying to identify the artist who drew this sketch of Gambit. She thinks it was from SDCC 2004 or around that time. We've already tried doing a reverse image search on the signature and sketch but couldn't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I would like to see Gambit get his telescopic utility bo staff back. Taking away his multipurpose bo staff (and other gadgets) made him a bit boring in my opinion. I also think a cool addition would be that he could infuse & channel kinetic energy into his trench coat. Turning his coat into an actual tool and extension to his abilities. Just as he was able to stretch the fabric of his scarf to blow up a falling train cart in X-Men 97 'Remember It' episode. Expand on that with his signature trench coat. A visual aesthetic similar to Spawn's cape or Dr. Strange's cloak along with Gambit's flair would be cooler than him having the Eye of Power.

For guys in the 90s he's a cool thief with a devil may care attitude who is good at fighting and can make anything glow and explode. An independent loner sort of guy with a charming and witty tongue who can get a lot of ladies to like him. He's a clever rebel who can go off on his own to do things for the benefit of the team, legal or not, and a thrill seeker who loves a good gamble card motifs and all. He's also someone loyal to his friends and family plus a hero at heart even. Plus his design is cool, trenchoat, staff and everything.

(Also his potential in terms of abilities makes him nice for powerscalers too)

As for the girls, he's good with kids/troubled teenagers (little Stormy, X-23, Calico) and a romantic at heart. He has a fun playful personality when interacting with others. He has a great dynamic with Rogue. A flirt yet respectful of her boundaries. As a romantic partner he's supportive, patient and affectionate of her, making sure she feels desirable even when she feels insecure about her condition at times (can't touch). He's proud of her strengths, he likes being saved by her and trusts her to be able to handle herself. He's loyal to an untouchable woman, being content at just being by her side even with his high libido. That said he's no simp either, he's capable of living his own life when they're on breaks and has a good amount of self respect (see ep 5 of X-men 97). Also he has good visuals plus the accent is very nice.

Anyway I really like how his different facets make him appealing to various demographics.

I've been waiting for this Uncanny X-Men #34 since it was announced. Might be my favorite Gambit cover ever. But I was pleasantly surprised to find this 1:25 wyvern variant on the shelf for $20. Instant buy. No questions. The seller even tried to talk me out of it. Never gonna happen.

I am looking to read more gambit comic books but I can’t find any that don’t feature rogue as a romantic partner . Any suggestions?

I personally hate that they completely removed smoking from comics… unless you’re Wolverine.
