stalker series have really dedicated fans so I cant wait what they can do with this!

I can safely recommend Stalker 2 now with the 2.0.

Also the expansion Cost of Hope is still a bit buggy

Jumped in for the first time with some armory overhaul mods, but otherwise, 2.0 has been such a lovely experience. Glad to see they're still fully committed to supporting the game

How does the AI behave now?

Much better from the initial launch from what I've experienced. Initially they would spot you in the dark from extremely far away but I've found it to be a lot better. Really glad everyone isn't some ace sniper now.

First proper playthrough for me. I spent some time with the original trilogy but with the sequel I had a great time, but I kept wishing it leaned more heavily into its simulator potential and patched up some rough edges. Modding seems to fix exactly that, my recommendations:

Fixes

Complement

Sim-esque

Edit: Not all mods are updated, am waiting on those and some more official patches.

Full article for those who are interested

Overall looks very interesting. Them focusing in one a custom "monolith" path is a good sign. That's a popular thing that is referenced in the original trilogy mods. People loved playing as monolith haha.

surprised they havent done a bethesda and opened a store. implementing/documenting a modding kit without a monetery gain in 2026 is wild.

Public mod kits/support tends to move units without the negative backlash of monetization. Bethesda is like the picture example of this working.

They also give legs to a game which can extend its earnings out further as (usually major) mod releases attract new people or bring in returners that then talk about the game more.
