Hi. Are gastros obtaining a good view of the anus, both internally and externally, when performing a colonoscopy? I had one June 17th but am having issues there. Thank you.

I am at my wits end with this issue. Normal tests: 2x CT with contrast, 2x ultrasound, 3x Blood Test, Cardiac Workup, Upper EGD, 3x physical exams. Abnormal tests: HIDA Scan 93 % EF, EGD showed chronic reflux and gastritis, liver enzymes (ALT) mildly elevated most recently compared to baseline but still in normal range (45). Additional symptom I forgot to mention: pain/ dc radiating to right shoulder. All symptoms come in flares of like multiple hours or days. The only meds that I take are bentyl 2x a day, welchol 2x a day, tylenol as needed, and protonix in morning. Only bentyl rly helps with flares (I am assuming it relaxes the gallbladder). Symptoms have really worsened (debilitating) over the last 1-2 weeks as I am on vacation. I am really considering surgery after meeting with the surgeon 2 times and he mentioned that he has taken out hyperkinetic GBS before but it is not certain removal will resolve symtpoms. I am a engineering student and the brain fog and fatigue is really interfering with my academic performance and job as well at this point. I am on here looking for more opinions and thoughts on whether or not I should proceed with removal and if there are any alternatives. I do not want to take out an organ if it is not truly necessary but I dont think I can continue living with these symptoms as life is truly bad. Thank you guys.

I've had non stop diarrhea with blood for the last 2 months, wake up multiple times a night. it started after treating pylori which caused belly pain.

Calprotectin value = 1230

all other tests negative. colonoscopy & endoscopy indicate ulcerative colitis. medication at the moment is Mesalamine but it's not doing anything. I've been treated by a Nurse Practitioner but requested to change to a doctor instead.

I was wondering if anyone here has any new information on CVS or knows of any specialists/organizations/groups to be involved with?

The specialist I worked with dropped off the face of the Earth, the CVS subreddit isn’t active, and the doctors I’m seeing now are doing more harm than good.

I hope this doesn’t break guidelines, but I am desperate. I will travel across the country if that’s what it took to get decent care.

I’ve had GI issues for a while now, mainly bloating, excessive burping/gas, constipation, and just feeling like my digestion has been off.

I’ve had both a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy (EGD), and both came back normal/good. So there wasn’t anything obvious found during the GI workup.

Recently I started taking Biocidin Remove, doctor recommended and honestly my stomach has been feeling significantly better. I’m less bloated, less uncomfortable, and my stomach just feels calmer overall.

The problem is that my constipation has gotten pretty intense.

I’m still technically pooping every day, but it’s usually a small amount, and I barely get the normal urge to go. It feels like things have slowed down considerably.

What makes this confusing is that I actually feel better overall while taking it, despite being more constipated. I don’t have the same stomach discomfort I had before, so I’m hesitant to stop it.

I’m typing out of straight up frustration. I’ve had upper GI issues since coming off almost a year’s worth of antibiotics May 2025. I’ve tried probiotics, diet changes, PPI’s, Sucralfate… nothing seems to work. My GI does not believe the antibiotics caused these problems.

My endoscopy came up with a 1cm hernia and non-dysplasia short segment Barrett’s esophagus. My ultrasound was perfect minus my spleen being just very slightly considered “large” (doc thinks it’s my normal size). I’m also negative for “dysplasia”.

So what could possibly be causing me to have burning pain in the middle of my upper abdomen , loud stomach noises, constant burping? Is it my 1cm hernia or could it truly be something else?
