Hi everyone. I'm using Gentoo for a while but one issue I'm unable to solve is the following.

Here's my setup: openrc and Gnome 49 on Wayland on a hp ProBook with integrated graphics.

The problem is that when I log off and on it shows the Gnome wallpaper and upper bar and the entire system halts.

When this happens I can't switch to another TTY. I haven't tried the magic sysrq keys yet.

Anyways. It's pretty annoying and I was hoping if someone has a solution. If I need to provide more info I'll gladly do so.

I love Alpine's super low ram usage, and disk space, but I just love Gentoo's portage more.

I know Gentoo is super customizable, and was wondering whats the least amount of packages needed for a Gentoo install. Maybe using a musl and llvm stage3, and then deleting every package except for ones needed to run I could get pretty close. I know bash is a hard requirement, but is it possible to make it use busybox via symlinks, patches, and seperate packages for stuff thats needed but not included? Maybe for coreutils there's an alternative that uses less ram or disk space?
I'd like to try and make my Gentoo install use the least ram as possible.

I want to maintain the use of the host machine hardware to compile (so no shared compilation like Distcc), but want to have the build dir (/var/tmp/portage/) in another machine that has more storage in disk.

Im trying to share via NFS, alredy shared the distfiles dir between my machines. But for the build dir that are inside /var/tmp

After setting up the PORTAGE_TMPDIR variables says that they arent writable

My /etc/exports

(/var/cache/distfiles is binded to distfiles and /var/tmp is binded to build)

/srv/packages           192.168.0.0/24(insecure,rw,sync,no_subtree_check,crossmnt,fsid=0)
/srv/packages/distfiles 192.168.0.0/24(insecure,rw,sync,no_subtree_check)

i am use debian for a while , like 2 year, and i think i should swich to gentoo , because i love source code , c , Rust , and more , any advice to help me (sorry for my bad englich)
