Question How do you view the relationship between Kamui and Abuto?
Their relationship is interpreted in very different ways.
As a "ship"āmeaning a romantic relationship. Honestly, I don't see that at all. There is a significant age gap, even though Kamui is technically an adult at 18. But Abuto accompanies Kamui and looks out for himānot like a romantic partner would.
Simply captain and subordinate. In this view, their relationship is strictly that: Kamui is the imperious superior, and Abuto is the subordinate who follows him around.
Abuto is like a father figure to Kamuiāsimilar to the role Gintoki plays for Kagura. No matter what Kamui does, Abuto stays by his side and watches over him. He genuinely cares about Kamui, and Abuto is one of the few people Kamui trusts. Furthermore, Abuto brought Kamui into the Harusame, just as Gintoki brought Kagura to the Harusame. This is the interpretation that makes the most sense to me. Abuto is the father figure to Kamui that Umibouzo never was.

Discussion takesugi in gintama the very end symbolism (major spoilers) Spoiler
didnt want to spoil it from the title just incase someone hasnt finished gintama but takesugi stabbing himself is definitely supposed to be symbolic of harakiri with gintoki being his second right? ik this is like the most surface level take i just dont wanna sound stupid also i completely get what takagin shippers mean now with the rose blossom scene and gintoki saying ill meet you in hell mirroring the lovers in courtisan of a nation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
- Gintoki by Adrien Antoine
Official voice of Chris Hemsworth and Henri Cavill, Jake Sully, Archer, Rengoku (Demon Slayer) and Batman (for the games and some animated show/movie)
9/10 choice
- Shinpachi by Alexandre Ngwen
Bolin (Legend of Korra), Thorfinn (Vinland), Junior (My wife and kids), Yuuta (Jujutsu Kaisen), Doowee (Sally Bollywood), Ekko (League of Legend)
10/10 choice, change nothing.
- Kagura by Leopoldine Serre
She mostly do theater work but she voiced Ms Marvel and a teenager in Shrek 3
Maybe it because she didn't do has much voice or Im biased because Ā Rie KugimiyaĀ is one of my favorite VA. I'd give it a 7/10
Hope it will boost Gintama popularity for Belgium and France

Discussion Am I the only one who wished the Harusame had appeared more often? Spoiler
Not just Kamui and Abuto, but the other divisions and the organization's entire structure. The Harusame seemed interesting during the Rakuyou Arc, and I wish we had seen more of them.
I also would have liked to see Kamui with the Harusame as a childātraining with Housen and seeing how his bond with Abuto developed.

Question Anime chapters adaptation
Hello! Ive been recently getting majorly into gintama i adore it but I noticed something with the anime, I was looking at episodes and seeing what manga chapters they adapt and I noticed there's alot of jumps, for example epiaode 36 adapted chapters 48 and 49 but the Christmas episode right after adapted chapter 99, all ik wondering is does this affect the watching expirence of gintama? Am I missing out on anything from not reading the manga chapters or am I good to expirence gintama fully throught the anime?

Discussion my thoughs on gintama after 200(+1) episodes
so its been a while. 3 months. and i have an explanation, its name in anxiety. anyways, i finally made it to the 16:9 aspect ratio after extremely inconsistent watching
theres only really been one major arc and it was red spider. it was pretty cool. tsukoyo is probably one of my favorite characters, shes just pretty cool. gintoki is also still up there, kyubei kagura and hasegawa too. honestly this show when its not being serious is just the most dumbass shit imaginable.
ive gone through 2 openings, stairway generation which is a pretty massive banger if i do say so myself, and light infection, which is genuinely a hyperbanger possibly top 5 openings in the series and easily the best opening upto this point.
that 187 episode was pretty cool, same with 180 or whenever you first meet gintokis teacher. i know he has something to do with the final villain i just dont know for another 100ish episodes.
anyways i now get a better aspect ratio, the best ending in the series and maybe the worst opening in the series.

I know it appeared in two or so episodes but after those it never shows up again. Iām not even sure if it was his dog or if it was just a companion he made and travelled with on occasion

Discussion fans need to cut the new movie some slack. Spoiler
to preface, i also have my criticisms for the movie and some disappointments too. but, i think that people are beginning to nitpick more than trying to keep an open mind, and i find myself a little frustrated.
the movie was honestly really good, and it was a commendable feat to condense all that material from a big arc into one movie. of course, it didn't leave sufficient breathing room for the plot to exercise its full impact, but regardless they managed to make it work within a singular movie; unlike the anime that had sufficient timeline to lay it all down.
and irrespective of whether you felt katsura and shinsengumi subplot was necessary or not, you gotta hand it to them that they made for some very hilarious scenes that resonate with gintama's evergreen metahumor. for gintama's 20th anniversary, i like that they added some new content for fans to enjoy, even if it didn't give room for a perfect remake. the TV version will always exist for a more faithful adaptation of the source material. it doesn't *have* to be a replacement like the benizakura movie.
not to mention that most of people's nitpicks and criticism center around scene cuts. for some scenes, such as seita's connection to otose snack bar, and hinowa's symbolism as the sun, it's completely fair. they are central to the yoshiwara arc alone. but nitpicking kamui scene cuts, umibozu at hosen's grave, etc. when they are meant to foreshadow the future in the series doesn't make too much sense. they are trying to make this arc stand on its own without needing to point toward anything far ahead of this arc.
on that note, people's criticisms of kagura vs abuto is quite fair, considering it's THE biggest talk of this arc. i have to agree that they kinda messed up with her shooting abuto through rooms. i also agree with people feeling the gintama action style is a little lost in this movie.
but people bandwagoning to point out every missing moment or lack of impact feels myopic, lacking consideration for the bigger picture of a full-length 2026 yoshiwara in flames *movie* in comparison to a series that can stretch itself to fit the story's layers. they used the storyline efficiently enough, paired it with a HUGE visual upgrade, which doesn't call for fans to believe it's an unworthy watch.

Anime Kagura yato mode 2009 Vs 2026 comparison Spoiler
galleryCouldn't find a good quality image for exact scene for the first comparison due it being dark as the movie decided to add an additional detail of the lights breaking from her strength when punching Abuto to the ceiling.
Both the anime and the movie showed the scene great in their own ways. It was still an enjoyable watch!
