I have a very expensive belt made of full grain leather. They didn't tell me it's expensive because it's a magic belt.

I have a very expensive belt. Hand-made. Full grain leather. Chicago screws. When I bought it they said "It's not guaranteed to last a hundred years but don't be surprised when it does!". I love this belt and I wear it every day no matter what.

Over the years I have been getting a little more girthy and even though the belt adjusts, the pants don't. Most of my pants fits me just fine and I don't really need the belt anymore but I still put it on every morning anyway. I do have a few pairs of pants that are still baggy. I used to do construction so I needed bending/squatting room in my trousers.

The other day I put on my baggiest pants I own. For the record I don't like that particular pair of pants but they were clean so I made an executive decision. Then I went to get my awesome full-grain leather belt with the Chicago screws but it wasn't there. No biggie. It's hidden from me before. I looked all over the room. Under the bed. Under the clothes hamper. Under everything. On top of everything. It was gone. I looked in the bathroom. I even looked in the kitchen just because. Never found it.

Luckily I was working from home and didn't really need to go anywhere but I did have to take my kids to school. I remember going out to the car holding my pants up. I remember holding my pants up when I got back and went into the house. I sat down at my desk and worked up until lunch time. Right before lunch I went to the "water closet" (the shitter) and I clearly remember unbuckling my belt.

Yeah. I was wearing my belt. It was wrapped around my waist under the belt loops and it was buckled.

I immediately felt faint like I was going to pass out. When something like that happens in real life as soon as you realize it everything turns into 3-D and you start over-analyzing everything.

All of you weirdos who have been saying we live in The Matrix - I owe you an apology. You were right. To some extent.

We all saw a flipped car and a massive traffic jam... until we passed one car and it completely vanished.

Something happened a few years ago that still haunts me, and to this day, I have no rational explanation for it.

I was driving during broad daylight with two passengers (my ex-girlfriend and her friend). As we were approaching an intersection with traffic lights, we hit heavy traffic. It was clear the gridlock was being caused by something major on the opposite side of the road.

As we got closer to the lights, all three of us distinctly saw the cause of the jam: a car was lying completely upside down on the other side of the road. It looked like a severe crash. Because it was the middle of the day, visibility was perfect—there was zero doubt about what we were looking at.

There was another car driving directly to the left of us, briefly blocking our view of the opposite lane as we passed it. But as soon as we moved past that car and got a clear line of sight again... there was nothing. No flipped car, no wreckage, no debris. Traffic on the other side was suddenly flowing completely fine, as if the crash had never happened.

We were all in complete shock. Right then and there, all three of us verbally confirmed that we had seen the exact same flipped vehicle just seconds prior, so I know for a fact I didn't imagine it.

I don't speak to those two passengers anymore, but that moment still sits with me. How does an upside-down car and heavy traffic literally erase itself in broad daylight within two seconds? Did we experience a glitch, a collective anomaly, or slip into a timeline where the crash never happened?

A sound that never occurred

Recently my family moved homes, and I just remembered something odd that happened in the process. In my old room there was a table with my computer, and on top a simple wall mounted cabinet. So, I was taking off this cabinet which my dad put up with 3 triangle shelving brackets, which each requires 4 screws (2 on the wall side and 2 on the cabinet side).

While unscrewing the wall screws, I could hear that one fell down behind the table and rolled on the floor, tho I couldn't see the screw actually fall because it was an awkward angle so I was kind of guessing by touch, but I felt that there was now a hole in the bracket where the screw had been.

I didn't mind it too much and thought I'd just pick it up later. Once I had unmounted the entire cabinet and laid it out on the bed I looked for the missing screw. But it wasn't on the ground? It wasn't anywhere on the ground. I searched under the table, the bed, and all other places I could think of. It's not even a big room, it couldn't have gotten very far.

Thinking I would look for it later with a flashlight in the darker corners, I took a baggy and started collecting the screws that I had put on the bed that I didn't let fall. And there were 12 screws? All the screws were there, not a single one was missing. I could've SWORN that I heard the screw fall. And I had never left the room at all, nor had anyone else come inside to possibly pick up the missing one!

I am so confused and I feel like I must've just mistaken a different falling sound or I just picked it up at some point without remembering...
