Does Multicam GR1 ever get restocked?
I had a 10 year old GR1 replaced under warranty but the discount code is only available until 12/31/26. I am trying to figure out if there is a chance the Multicam gets restocked before the end of the year or if I should just snag another color.

No 25th Anniversary 9/11 Rucks in the PNW?
Just got the email for the events taking place for the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and none are in the PNW. There are a few in California and one in Salt Lake City but that’s pretty much it. I know GORUCK is based out of Jacksonville and it’s East Coast centric but can’t the West Coast and the PNW get some love or at least some ruck events? Jason, why don’t you like the PNW man?
How does the canvas woodland m81 patina ?

My experience with one-bag travel with GR3 35
Image: circa 2019 GR1 26 and GR3 35.
The GR1 was too small for longer one-bag trips so I acquired the GR3.
The GR1 is my EDC bag, tennis bag, rucking bag and one-bag for short trips. The GR3 is for longer one-bag trips and grocery shopping when on my bike.
The GR3 was only the only bag used during a recent three week European trip. I utilize a travel vest for things that people often use as personal carry on - makes it easing going through security and managing crowds. Fully loaded the GR3 fit overhead of a 757, A320 and 787. It did not fit overhead in a CRJ or A220.
I really like the top stash pocket and wish my GR1 had one. Fully loaded it needs the bottom handle to heave the bag into the overhead but I might take it off on the next trip and use the side handles, which I didnt use on this trip. I didnt use the waist belt - too much stuff to fuss with. I went through TSA with the iPad in the travel vest but transferred it to the GR3 after getting through. I stuffed the CPAP into the main compartment but next time I’ll attach it to the outside.
I forgot to attach a chest strap and found that with the slicker inside material of GR3 shoulder strap, the strap would slip off. That doesnt happen so much with the older GR1. Maybe some more break-in time will help with the slippage?
Very pleased with the acquisition and looking forward to using it in other creative ways.
GoRuck Basic Rucker vs Rucker 5.0 20L
I've been using the Basic Rucker for about 3 months, with around 20lbs, I'm 6' and about 240lbs. The Basic Rucker is comfortable, I like how it rides high on my back, but the spacing between the straps is a bit tight width wise. The Rucker 5.0 looks like the straps are not only wider where they meet the pack, but the straps themselves look wider and more comfortable. Long story short, is the Rucker 5.0 a noticeable upgrade for the people who have worn both?
I feel like I will be continuing to ruck well into the future, so it almost feels like the money will be worth it to step up to the full package in getting a Rucker, not just there "Entry" level backpack. All thoughts welcome, thanks!

Rucker 3.0 mods
galleryDidn’t like the reflector. Didn’t like Molle webbing in front. Replaced reflector with Ultra 800x strip to and added ultra 400x to bottom panel. No more logo either.

Gr2 xpac ripped from a shampoo bottle
Packed my Gr2 xpac out for a trip and by the time I got where I was going I realized my bag had a small hole in it. Mind you the bag wasn’t overpacked but I had the bottle of shampoo in the front pocket that’s slanted. This bag is still fairly new I just got it on Black Friday this last year and I’ve brought it on only a handful of trips and never really beat on it so this is pretty disappointing experience for me considering the price of the bag. Has anyone else had a similar experience of their xpac bag ripping from something small like this? I know I can just ship it to scars and get it fixed but it’s made me kind of lose confidence in the bag if a simple shampoo bottle is gonna do it in. Maybe I should’ve got it in the tougher nylon but I work on the water so I wanted something that could withstand getting wet.

Old Jeans
I saw an old pair of jeans and honestly it felt emotional.
It reminded me of the person I used to be. Out of shape, overweight, and struggling with type 2 diabetes with complications piling up.
I never thought I was capable of changing this much.
Sometimes, an old pair of jeans is a reminder of just how far you’ve come.

GoRuck Tough questions
Hello GoRuck Community!
I started getting back into rucking in the spring, and I have been out of the military since 2023. I feel quite confident about being able to reliably do 12 mile rucks at this time, but I have a few questions about the Tough.
Do I need to have a GoRuck ruck for this event? I have shoulder hardware in my right shoulder and prefer to use load lifters to take some of the pressure off of my shoulder especially when ruck running or over a long event. I heard they toss your packs around and I am concerned about whether I can get away with using a regular ruck. I have a 1603 frame with molle2 and a flipped filbe belt at the bottom with shoulder strap harness starting almost directly above it so that my belt is firmly above my hips. It’s a big heavy ruck but I am comfortable with it. I also have a Mystery Ranch Guide Light MT frame with a mule pack (27 liters) attached to it and although it is super comfortable, I am worried about the cadre breaking it as I absolutely cannot afford to replace a mystery ranch expedition level frame.
I am decent at moving heavy weight and will ruck up the stairclimber with 100 pounds packed into the 1603 molle 2 pack, but I feel like showing up with an external pack will make me an object of special “attention” from the cadre. I’ve completed some other hard stuff before like a marathon and I completed air assault school at Fort Campbell on my first go whilst not being stationed there. My 12 miler there was not bad, something like 2:19, but I’ve never done a 10-12 hour event before. Should I stick to the 9/11 12 miler or should I attempt the tough with one of my existing rucks?

New old stock find for kiddo
Picked up a new bag from some old stock for my little girl. She’s 6 and needed a new school bag, so I figured why not buy this and get her exercising with me with a 10lbs plate in the back while I’m at it. And on a darker note, 1/8” steel ar500 custom cut to fit in the back will be about 6.5lbs. Good daily exercise and protection. Highly doubt she’ll ever need. But why not be safer if we can.
Share bags that you guys got for your kids. I’m interested in what I’ll get her moving forward if she likes it.
Samurai: Old vs New
galleryThe Samurai Gorucks honestly dont look good unless you get a patina on it. I felt meh when i got the first one. But I love it so much now that I bought a new “seconds” one off ebay in case the old one gets destroyed somehow
I edc this, took it on hikes , had grease fall on it etc. I wipe it clean with a damp towel every once in a while, but some patina always stays. I love how its developing.

Is the 18L DC the best purely EDC bag GR makes?
The title says it all. What’s y’all’s opinions? Is the 18L DC the best purely EDC bag GR makes? I can think of a dozen reasons the GR1/2 is better or more useful for other things. But when it comes to a pure EDC standpoint, I can’t think of a better bag in the lineup.
Bullet in the wild
Just go out for a ruck in the wild near house great pack ! 10miles with 10lbs

Important sizing information.
I have seen the question asked and/or comments made regarding this multiple times in this sub as well as r/manybaggers.
A lot of people seem to think that moving up a size in the Rucker will help with strap width issues.
Don’t waste your money. I almost did.
Now I’m just going to focus on getting a set of custom strap pads or something made to fix my issues vs buying a whole new bag.

Gr Trex straps
God bless Jason and the GR team for coming up with these straps. They’re perfect for shifting the load and giving your shoulders a break during long rucks.

Wolf Grey or Black
I think I’ve got myself struck on Wolf Grey. Used to be a black guy. But just snagged my first Wolf Grey bag (21L GR1) and I’m sold on this as a neutral over black now. Pic of GR1 at work (nuclear plant). What’s everybody else’s thoughts on WG vs traditional black?

GR0 straps for EDC
Hi all. I'm looking at using a smaller bag for when I don't need my GR1. I have a Bullet right now but the straps do feel quite stiff and narrow when carrying a heavy load.
Does anyone have experience with both a bullet and a GR0 or echo to compare? How do the GR0 straps hold up to the bullet?

Rucking without Rucker?
For light rucking can something like a Heritage 18l DC be used for 10-15lbs?
If so, where should the weight be placed?

Gr tactical fanny
Can you actually fit a Glock in there? Not that I’m planning to carry one concealed. I’m just curious whether it really lives up to what the bag claims.
