I was at Costco (UK) this week holding one thing. The two women in front of me who were together, had trolleys stacked with items. They then started dividing it into multiple separate piles in order to make separate transactions.

Before they started doing all this - one of the women locked eyes with me, saw I was holding one thing, and continued dividing the groceries.

I will say though, Costco should make an express checkout.
It's also possible I'm antsy because I had surgery only a few days ago 😂.

Uncle Bucks dollar store was my secret weapon. Fresh produce at 1980 prices. They closed.

Publix is right across the street from me, but the last time I went there, people were walking around like depressed zombies, then i looked at the prices and understood why. Ok that was enough for my yearly visit to Publix.

I tried Aldis. Kinda scary after reading the ingredients on alot of their products, but tried it anyway. Produce prices are encouraging… Cant be too much poison on these if i wash them first, right?

Went on a Saturday, big mistake. Had about 6 items in my cart, went to checkout. Oh. Hell. No. That. Line. Was at least a 30 minute commitment. Ok thats how they save their costs, only 2 people actually work here. Nice they let the cashiers sit down. But the day is too beautiful to spend that much wasted time here. Walked out. Just left the cart there, didnt even get my coveted quarter back. Am I a bad person? Oh well

I contemplated going to the “World Market”. And yes, the child care building next door used to be a sex club.
Ive never been to Moscow, but I think they removed a section of the city and placed in this warehouse in Hollywood, Florida. But they also are notorious for the long lines in front of their princess cashiers.

So I made the only reasonable decision and went to the beach.

Today, woke up with no food. Hunger prompted a journey to Trader Joes, my go-to place for food that promises no artificial colors, preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, etc. this is very important to me. But so is my hatred of getting into an automobile. Its a Sunday, if i go early enough, there will be no traffic, neither on the road nor in the store.

Wait is it really early? Not sure, i think my clocks reset themselves last night. This always gives me a week or two of confusion as the body adjusts to this draconian time slam. But ok, sacrifices must be made, use the precious fuel that is rumored to be price-gouged and hoarded in the upcoming weeks due to our latest oil war.

End result? 2 bags of groceries = $100, and the promise of life expectancy for approximately 8 more meals.

If I see a package that is organic, would that be safe? Are there any reputable brands that anyone knows of that are a safe bet?

Also, is it all beef or just ground beef?

My wife went shopping to day at Jewel in the Chicagoland area when I was at work. I put bone-in NY strip on the list because it’s on sale and figure this may be the last beef we buy for a while now that the import restrictions have been eased and mystery meat will be hitting the shelves.

I didn’t think it already would have, especially with that recent imported beef recall.

She asked me to vacuum seal the steak before I put it in the freezer since the trays weren’t wrapped that well. So when I got home from work and went to vacuum seal them, I noticed one pack said “Imported” on the label, and the other didn’t and also had the USDA Choice sticker on the package.

I think milk and egg costs aren't to bad these days on the bright side.

We have been using bobbie organic for our 5 month old and it has been an absolute lifesaver for us. It’s the only brand that keeps him happy, full, and completely spit-up free.

Our monthly shipment gets here in a few days, but we’re cutting it a little close on our current can because he's been eating like a champ this week. I know Target carries it now, do they usually have a good amount of stock on the shelves, or does it sell out super fast? Just trying to figure out if I need to run out first thing in the morning to grab a backup can!

Do you wipe your own ass, or do you have somebody else do that for you too? Not coming in to get your own groceries is the epitome of laziness!

Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone here has experience with AppCard. For context, I am an operator of an independent grocery store and was wondering what to expect as far as pricing goes, so any data points would be helpful.

Kroger used to have easy to read, bright labels highlighting their discounts. It looks like they just put labels that were sitting in the warehouse since the 1980s back on the shelves.

The first image is what it looks like if I crouch down and take a picture of it with my camera. I can barely read it without zooming in. Even then, it’s hard to see that if you buy 3 cases, you get 3 free.

The third image is what it looks like from the standing position. I would’ve had no idea there even was a discount if I didn’t know to check for them.

I’m glad that I know to check for this sort of thing, because if I just walked in to buy some Pepsi, I wouldn’t know that there was a great deal. I’m sure this saves Kroger a bunch of money from people not knowing to look for it.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of cleanliness in grocery stores? Especially, prepared foods and the deli. Refrigerated shelves are moldy and debris is everywhere. I expected more from Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter but will not go back. Publix seems to be the only store near me that is kept clean.

They really like to be begging for some money to customers who are entering the store to buy fucking gummies and when they don’t have enough money they tell the cashier to give the the gummies first and they’ll come back later.

I fucking hate these people, they loooveeee to look rich yet they call out others to use their money instead, I had dreams where I saw these people fucking jailed or in rehabilitation with real good education, nothing like the stupid shit their parents probably didn’t even taught.

I did portraits of them out of frustration yet it came out better with my low artistic abilities compared to their fucked up real faces.

I’m so disgusted by them one time I’ve overheard their conversation and they were really pissed bc some worker was following them around the store to check if they didn’t steal anything and they had the audacity to say some shit like “when that pregnant came here stealing diapers there was nobody following her” I wonder why??????

They’re racist anyways, so it’s not really a loss. From finding ALIVE weevils in sealed pasta boxes, spoiled tasting milk that has weeks before its expiration, and now I find this in my grapes… for peace of mind, can someone just confirm that this IS in fact mold? I ate a few before I saw this, and it appeared to be the only one like this. At first I thought I had somehow smeared some butter or cream cheese (in the middle of a grape container that I hadn’t even opened yet….). But upon looking closer, it did seem a little fuzzy rather than creamy. Regardless, I’m absolutely disgusted.

Maybe it's just me wanting to find a way to read ingredients/nutritional values or it's more common with others.
What is the most important info part you read want to read thats printed behind a product?

I don't see stores on flasfood for produce/any other item in the Bay Area now? I used to find the $5 produce box from Lucky very useful. I don't see them on the app anymore. Does anyone know why? Is there any alternative? To good to go doesn't have much options for produce in my area.
