As an actually important Redditor I have come to announce that we will be hosting a grunge albums/bands poll! It's inspired by the recent trend in specific age groups showcasing their favorite albums. The results will be posted next week, probably. If I don't forget to show them. You can vote in the poll down below!

Marginally Nirvana-related but was just getting my world news fix and came across \[this article\](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/9/1/hit-them-hard-does-trump-have-another-new-iran-strategy-can-it-work) with a photo of an amusing billboard. Nevermind is unfortunately not acknowledged in the article. Iran's regime are not good guys, but it seems they at least have a sense of humour.

Pearl Jam's self titled album from 2006 is an awesome listen, and I don't think enough people know or talk about it, because I've rarely heard anyone mention it. This album is PJ's return to their roots, but a continuation of their departure from the "Seattle Sound." I wouldn't call this grunge like I wouldn't call Vitalogy grunge either. Vitalogy was, according to PJ members, a punk rock album, and Pearl Jam (2006) is hard rock, with a pop rock sound mixed in. It's got your heavy-ish sound in songs such as World Wide Suicide, and softer, more melodic sound in songs like Marker In The Sand. It's also quite politically charged, and the delivery of each song's message is very well laid out. Overall, an 8/10 for me. I love this album and if you haven't yet heard it, you might love it too.

I always feel like Superfuzz Bigmuff gets most of the attention, but they’ve got such a deep catalog. Curious what everyone here thinks is their best full-length, and which one you actually come back to the most.
